Person of knowledge told me that Adams won't spend extra $$$ on facility expansion because Caprock is not making a profit right now.

Doctor's are giving Adam's scenarios of how to make a profit but he isn't seeing the long term effects of immediate investments so Caprock will be closing down because of it

So DA doesn't want to follow bad money with good ? Probably a good move. The original owners of the Caprock ER got out over their skis with the Caprock Hospital in Bryan. Their gamble - not an unreasonable one - hasn't paid off. Freestanding ERs are failing in many places. I don't think theirs would be if they had stuck to their original model. I suspect WDF is doing well but the Bryan location is more than offsetting it. At some point any investor has to ask how much more? I have no inside info, nor am I invested in Caprock or any competition of theirs. But I do observe the local and state and national trends closely.
This thread deserves its own thread - not coming and going at this point - although it was completely appropriate a day or two ago.

I was told by someone in theknow, that one of the problems with Caprock is that they often don't try to collect on outstanding bills. If the patient just ignors the bill, they don't persue payment. Not a good way to run a business.

Probably the writing was on the wall when they sold both the Century Square and Jones Crossing facilities to Integrity a few years ago. Any time a company sells or closes a quarter or more of their locations without a clear path forward for the rest of the company is NEVER a good sign.

File under "possible comings:" friends sent me some info about a Ukrainian woman who just moved here with her family and is looking to cater and also sell food directly.

I'll add details as I get them. I saw pelmeni, varaneky, stuffed chicken breasts (chicken Kiev?) and Ukrainian crepes so far in some pics she shared.

Had Wild Pita for lunch yesterday. It was good! I got a burrito and it was a really nice size, having it for leftovers today. Parking can be an issue, but other than that, I will go back.

Man the Caprock news is a real gut punch. My family has used it so many times and it's so convenient and fast. Is another entity gonna buy it and operate it or doors closed forever and that building repurposed?

I was not a fan of their billing practices. My ( young adult) daughter was seen for an UTI in mid- 2023. Covered under my insurance, paid what was owed at that time. Then, 18 months later, received a bill for more $$ owed. Got some song and dance story about billing BCBS, appeals, etc. I and my family have used S&W, St Joes, Integrity Urgent Care, Signature ER and have never experienced this. Was not a fan. But still sorry to see a local business fail.

My understanding is it wasn't a local business anymore. They sold out a couple years ago to a group out of Houston.

We went tonight and it was plenty of food and everything we tried was great. I got the sampler (ended up with 7 for 12.95) went coco, sweet and spicy, spicy. As far as the salad dressings, I preferred the Poppyseed to the Ginger, but both are really good. Add the grilled Pineapple for a pleasant treat.

They sold their urgent cares off to Integrity, but the two ERs were still locally owned by the original group.

Correct. I noted that in earlier posts. Urgent care and freestanding hospital and ERs are two different business models. Probably 3 different models and there in lies what likely put them in this spot.

Their billing was my issue, no transparency and if you called and asked for clarification they were generally pretty rude and difficult to deal with.

Land was cleared on 29th, behind the office building complex that I believe TexAgs was in back in the 90's, if my memory is correct. N side of 29th, between Broadmoor and Briarcrest.

No signs up that I've seen yet.
