The mental gymnastics this guy does to justify his stance on social issues has no bounds.

His worldview isn't shaped by his beliefs; his beliefs are shaped to fit his worldview.
yes but there are a lot of really stupid people out there that he panders to and they believe him

That isn't odd. The same reason Pete Buttigieg will never be President. The black community isn't very accepting of gay men and effeminate men.

I don't care enough to do it, but a coworker has printed up a ton of stickers to go over the Low-T yard sign to make it read:

"Talarico"….
Is a Pedo (matching black background and white font)

I'm voting for Paxton too…. I'm saying for those that say they can't vote for him do to his infidelity… he may have asked for repentance.. but Talirico obviously has not… and his political leaning doesn't align with mine.. so there for… I won't vote for him…

Exactly. It's not the fact that Talarico is a heretic that keeps me from voting for him (does make me despise him though), it's the moronic ideas he supports politically.

I don't want to invite Paxton over to my house for beers and hang out. I'm voting for him because I like the way he votes on the issues.

As another poster previously stated, I've still yet to see one poster defend Talarico based on his policy stances. If you can do that, but will still vote him, you're a f'n idiot.

I'll throw out a policy position that most F16 will agree with Talarico's stance. He is unlikely to support Trump's $1.8 billion weaponization slush fund. Paxton will undoubtedly support it.

Good. What the Biden DOJ did must be compensated for.

Fine, but you're probably in the minority here on that issue. I'll toss another one out. Talarico will oppose Trump's tariffs. Sure, he will mostly oppose them simply because it's Trump, but he'll still oppose. Paxton will be a Trump puppet on tariffs, or any other issue for that matter.

That's so far down the line of policy deltas it's not even worth bringing up.

Talarico is the most progressive leftist Dem candidate to run at this level in Texas.

Fify

If you continue down the wrong road, it is not progress.

Except Obama was "black," well 1/4 black, but looked the part so that was all that mattered.

A effeminate, gay white dude is not going to get nearly as many black votes, especially from black men.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. Now that's funny.

Tragically, the old couple across the street from me who put up a Kamala sign last time, moved into assisted living last year so, I don't anticipate needing to do a sign battle this election cycle.

They let in over 20 million migrants in four short years and talk about a "path to amnesty" for all so that the 10% AA base won't have to matter to them anymore soon. They also used a weak and corrupted system to change their strategy and efforts from "get out the vote" campaigns to well funded harvesting operations, so even if AAs have no idea who talrico is or are turned off by him, the votes are still secured via harvesting. If you're against communist destruction of this country, you can't let up. You have to vote, and you can't let yourself fall for the Pravda narrative about the non-communist candidate, which pales in comparison when considering the damage they could do in the senate.

Here is Talarico appearing to agree that Karmelo Anthony should not have been convicted of murder.

This clip needs to be cut and advertised in the DFW area market for sure.

Personally, I think that whole issue has been compromised by its opponents and blown WAY out of proportion.

First, it wasn't 1.8 billion. It was 1.776 billion. Why? As a nod to the birth of our nation and its original values and ideals. And yes, that itself pissed a lot of people off. And the failure to acknowledge the symbolism of the amount was very telling imo.

And second, the opponents love to hold up the very few people who actually had malevolent intent on Jan 6h, while ignoring the large number of people who were tracked down, detained, and prosecuted for simply being present on the Capitol grounds on that day. There were a lot of them, and no amount of hyperventilation or feigned offense and anger directed at those who point this fact out will change any minds to the contrary.

So was it designed to be a slush fund? Democrats and opponents of the president say yes, others say that the funds would have been used for those who were truly unfairly targeted. And in the end, we'll never know.

You're upset because I rounded up? Hilarious.

Please start another thread to discuss the slush fund and I'll be glad to discuss it with you there. We're teetering on the edge of derailment as it and staph has been clear with the warnings on derailment. For the purposes of this thread, it's not important how you and I feel about this fund, only that Talarico will oppose it and Paxton will support it.

I'd argue that harvesting is somewhat curtailed by statutes but it still happens. The biggest change was that a 2010 (ish) law prevents one person from "assisting" on more than 2 ballots and I believe if someone assists you in filling out your ballot, you have to be kin or a caregiver.

Before, one person could "assist" filling out an unlimited amount of ballots.

Democrats (primarily) still get away with it by holding parties where your mail-in ballot is your ticket for admission. What they do to you and the ballot at these parties is left you your imagination.

This is a good point. Doesn't this sort of rationalization make him a christian nationalist, one of the most despised types of white guys on the planet to the leftists?

Also, are Democrats in competitive races in Texas running away from Talarico?

Probably.

A. Not upset at all. Simply pointing out a widely used tactic to misdirect from the origin of the idea and from a nod to the founding of our country.

And B. Paxton vs. Talarico relevant because YOU brought up the topic as an issue that F16 would support Talarico on.
