I'm assuming a single TVA exists outside time and the one Loki showed up in had already (somehow) been coopted by a Kang variant. We know the TVA can wipe memories, so it's within the established powers that exist.
Let's say it was 30 seconds between pushing Loki through the portal and killing HWR. Did everything get wiped in that 30 seconds? Or in the short time between killing him and Loki going to find Mobius? Seems like a lot to change in such a short time.

I think it has to be something about the cyclical nature of time that they were showing visually at the beginning of the episode. I think that's why He Who Remains wasn't terribly concerned about dying. He knew he'd be back eventually.

Either that or His device that Sylvie used really did push Loki into an alternate timeline. So maybe each timeline (the ones that fought at the beginning of the series) all still existed, just separate from each other. And a different Kang controls each one of them. Now they're all coming together instead, leading to the Spider-Man movie where we're going to get lots of different versions of villains from other timelines.

Great question.

There's no logical explanation for it. It's the part of the show that bugs me. A lot of things that happened didn't make any sense given the established rules of time or multiverses in the MCU and I'm at the point of not trying to make sense of it anymore. I'll just accept that some things won't make sense, and it will annoy me greatly, but I'll try to ignore it and enjoy the ride.

Any other IP and I'd be checking out, but marvel has earned a lot of goodwill for me to forgive things that would have me tuning out on other stories.
Thanks and gig'em

I joked about the matrix awhile back, but perhaps that's right. Someone finally comes along and takes over the citadel and the whole process starts over

Fairly sure the device Sylvie used to send Loki there sent him to another timeline. She grabbed the thing from His desk.
Ah so she sent him, and then the scenes where they showed Mobius and whatsherface talking was the original timeline she was on?

That's a cool idea, which reminds me of some of what we have seen on the Flash tv show's first 2-3 seasons. Ive lost touch with that show, but it was great originally.

Because the Loki finale *literally* just sparked the multiverse while ALSO introducing the phase four (and five?) villain - which actually sounds like villainS plural (all by the same actor) - and I could not be more stoked or satisfied.
I mean, we could be getting an alligator Kang, right?

I hated He Who Remains. The acting was so ridiculous and cheesy, it took me out of the whole thing.

Idk, I get we have to amp up the stakes, it just feels like all this new stuff just cheapens the first 3 phases of the MCU. We build up the Infinity Stones as the most powerful thing in the universe, with seemingly the power to destroy and reform the Universe... but they don't work in the TVA. So the TVA is some sort of "between" or "outside" realm?

Despite things like that, I was going into this finale enjoying the show. He Who Remains just completely ruined this entire series for me. Worse finale of the 3 MCU shows, imo, and brought down the show that I was actually enjoying the most.

This whole thing is losing me, and I am a fantasy nerd.

I would agree that its probably the worst finale, but my thinking is because its actually a season finale. THe others were series finales, imo.

My interpretation of the ending is that since the TVA is outside of time, it basically is instantly created for all time. So as the multiverse is allowed to branch uncontrolled, there instantly becomes many different TVAs created by the many variants of He Who Remains that are capable of creating it, and from the point of view of those inside the TVA they've always been working for their version.

The only way this really works, IMO is if various Kang-variants all create versions of the TVA as part of their wars on each other, but eventually He Who Remains's version comes to dominate using Alioth.

Really interesting finale. Loved the use of music and colors - which has been a huge part of why I liked the series.

Cool reveal and I dig that we're getting another charismatic villain it'll be interesting to see how they keep all the multiverses tangible for viewers moving forward. If comics have taught us anything is that that can get out of hand in a hurry.

An entire franchised based on comic books seems comic-bookey. No effing way!

So mobius found renslayers true "sacred" counterpart bc she had the pencil from the high school or whatever in her TVA office. That means she already knew she was a variant. This probably isn't the first TVA reset, and she is knowledgeable of many of them, bc of mobius' multiple drink rings that he doesn't remember.

Ha, I feel like we watched two completely different finales. I thought Majors was amazing, I could not be more into his character going forward, and this was easily the best finale of the bunch for me. The emotional arc of Loki from the beginning of episode one to the end of the finale was just incredible, and resonated with me more than the emotional arcs of the leads of the past two shows as well. I've been skeptical of the multiverse, but this series - and last night's finale, in particular - has me so stoked for what's to come. This is going to be so damn fun, and the finale teed it all up in such an exciting, jaw-on-the-floor way; one that, IMO, made TV actually feel like a big-screen franchise blockbuster for the first time since Game of Thrones.

I do think they did right by Wanda but to have the growth of Avengers Loki that he had was pretty incredible. And to have Majors come in and kick the **** in of everyone prior to him was just amazing. We won't see this senile version again, but man I can't wait for the menacing ******* that makes Thanos look like a weakling in Majors.
TCTTS

No doubt.

And yeah, that's not to say Wanda's arc wasn't great. It was. I just thought Loki's was a higher difficulty level, like you alluded to, was executed brilliantly, and in three fewer episodes.

Loved Majors and his charisma. One suggestion, if they go with an all-powerful Kang, they need to get a ripped Myles Garrett to be his body double. I think they look very similar because of the nose

That was great. Put me in the Majors was awesome category. Lots of charisma, he was having fun. It's pretty hard to steal a scene from Hiddleston, he basically stole the episode. I'm really impressed with what they pulled off with this series, this was easily my favorite MCU show so far.

Am I the only that thought he was going to say "I am inevitable" before he died? Would have made total sense given his explanation of what was going to happen.

I'm pretty sure "He Who Remains" is Kang.

Kang is from the 31st century just like "He Who Remains" said in the show.

I'm about halfway through this pod and the convo they're having about Kang and the finale in general is so good. This season/episode just gets better and better the more I read, listen, and think on it

The Ringerverse has been pretty great for the instant reactions with the in depth analysis from Mal.

I didn't like his zaniness at all. That said, in the final ~10 minutes or so of the episode, it was a lot easier to stomach. When Kang became giddy with the unknown instead of being overly casual and hip.

Pretty big Kang fan in general so maybe I was just put off by the departure. But like someone said before, any other Kangs we see may act totally differently.
