Sorry...

So you guys think that one black guy in the show one time is related to Gus? I think it's obvious he is because they are both black and have glasses.

And don't forget his name is Ernesto.

Hispanic! Definate sign of a cartel member.
His dad is the guy buried in the desert????

When Mike was following the gps tracker he passed a tree that I think was the same tree from Breaking Bad. Was anyone else paying enough attention to notice it too?

Yes. It was the exact tree. Good eye.

I love those little Easter eggs. That's why people who haven't binge watched Breaking Bad frame by frame 17 times can't really appreciate this show.

Do y'all think Better Call Saul or Breaking Bad is better overall?

I like that BCS is for sure less intense than BB, but with BCS we all know where the show is going in a general sense (Jimmy becomes Saul)... In that regard BB is better because as a viewer you had no idea what was gonna happen from episode to episode. On the other hand, BCS is much more realistic than BB.

I still think BB is better overall, but that's because that was really the first TV show that I ever felt like I was really truly invested in. Also while I despise Chuck a whole bunch, I don't HATE anyone in BCS as much as I did in BB. Skyler was the worst, and even Walt Jr. was annoying.

I think first episode to last BCS is better, because the early episodes of BB weren't that great. Took them a season or two to really find their footing.
But BCS would need a boost to catch up to the last a season in particular of BB. That is among the best seasons of TV ever produced.

Of course they are also two very different shows, so preferences come into play.

For me right now BB no contest. And I love BCS. We'll have to see what the next couple of seasons have in store for us.

You kid, but we're not far off from someone on this board eventually considering the mere notion of another season a "spoiler."

I would like a separate thread next season for us non Breaking Bad watchers. You guys talking about spoilers like the tree that Mike went by that was also in Breaking Bad is really annoying for us.

Hey, TV-watching is serious business. It requires dedication. So, get with the program and binge BB so you can adequately contribute to the enlightening discussions concerning tree placement and characters who may or may not be related to Gus.

Done. And then probably a third thread for people who want to read reactions only, but can't actually watch 'til later in the week.

Oh, and then of course a fourth thread for people who have never watched any TV ever, and only consume their media from reactions on TexAgs. We'll just narrate the show as it happen in real time.

Dude, I haven't even been watching BCS, I'm just here to chill.

What's new with you? I'm pretty much a CSI guy if you're looking to engage me in conversation.

This answers some of our earlier speculation about the delayed renewal:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/better-call-saul-renewed-fourth-season-at-amc-1017090

Quote:

Season three of the drama averaged 3.7 million total viewers, including 1.9 million among adults 25-54 and 1.7 million adults in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic, when factoring in three days of delayed viewing. That's good enough to become the third-highest rated drama on cable among adults 25-54, trailing only AMC's The Walking Dead and prequel Fear the Walking Dead.

Better Call Saul has typically earned an early renewal. That wasn't the case this season as negotiations took longer than expected given the executive shuffling at both AMC (where longtime head of programming Joel Stillerman exited for Hulu) and Sony Pictures Television (where co-presidents Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht left for Apple and a new SPE CEO was brought in).

Good article on that subject.

http://www.cinemablend.com/television/1676519/why-better-call-saul-and-breaking-bad-need-more-spinoffs-from-amc

Snip:

Quote:

Interestingly enough, AMC offers up its own comparison-friendly microcosm here, since it's the home of both Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead's extended TV universes. Vince Gilligan's initial masterpiece obviously didn't reach the kind of ratings heights that The Walking Dead has, and the zombified offshoot Fear the Walking Dead came out the gate with numbers that squashed Bob Odenkirk's time as Jimmy McGill, but the horror drama has seen much bigger viewership dips from season to season.

And what's more, the Live+7 results for Fear the Walking Dead's "TEOTWAWKI," which aired on the same night as Saul's "Fall," only hit a decimal point higher with its 1.7 demo rating. And it had fewer total viewers, with 4.07 million, as compared to the 4.23 million that watched the immediate aftermath of Kim's horrifying car accident. And considering Better Call Saul's finale landed 1.81 million viewers for its live airing, the drama could very well bypass Fear after the final totals are tallied.

Not bad considering the insane popularity of the zombie stuff.

I'll never understand the fascination with zombiea.

I try to be fair and imagine if I would have liked it when I was 12 and into horror, but even to my 12-year old brain TWD seems boring and lacking real suspense. But anyway, I still think BCS's ratings are pretty cool. Obviously, we were right about ratings being slow because people were waiting to watch on demand or DVR.
bankshot11
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Walking Dead still has a TON of leftover fans from when the first 2-3 seasons were actually good, but their ratings were in a freefall last season. FTWD I can't answer, that first season was so damn awful I barely finished it.

I'd guess Saul was hurt by being a "smarter" show than TWD and also the bizarre decision to push this season back 2 months and put every episode up against NBA and NHL Playoffs and Finals
