I always thought that Cinnabon was a witness protection program gig they set him up with at some point.

Unfortunately I do not remember much of the fate of several of the BB characters, which is a common byproduct of my binge watching an entire series.

It was set up by the guy that took Walt to that cabin to hide out.

It was not. I think BCS can continue on with new episodes and show Saul's other clients as he was dealing with Walt & Jessie (with some cameos from them).

But I would recommend that you watch BB first and then to BCS.
But the writers have continually said there is a finite end to the series, implying little or no overlap with BB. They had said it could pick up and continue in Nebraska.

I agree with you in a literal sense, it COULD continue in parallel to BB, but the writers apparently don't want to or think it's too challenging.

I am not concerned with how BCS ends. I am just enjoying the ride.

one of the best parts about the last episode was when Hector was standing alone by the pool, the wind was blowing and you could hear wind chimes in the background. these had the same tone and frequency as the bell on his wheelchair. it is these little things that make this show so great and why you have to watch BB to really appreciate BCS

But they've also talked about Walt/Jesse cameos which wouldn't make sense unless the timelines overlapped.

The opening shot from the bottom of the pool also reminded me of the BB episode when the little stuffed animal is floating around Walter's pool after that plane crash.

well, given the character's lifespans overlap with the BCS timeline, you could have a cameo and it wouldn't necessarily be within the timeline of the BB story.

I would like to see a scene at a mall in Albuquerque, where in the background Walt is sitting in a chair outside of a department store dressing room holding Skyler's purse.

Maybe there is a knock on Skyler's dressing room door and she asks, "Walt, is that you?".

Walt replies, "I am not the one who knocks."

BCS series finale final scene we see Walter - from behind - walking into Saul's office. Fade to black.

Walt & Jesse didn't know Mike, Gus, or Saul at the start of BB so it would be an awkward cameo to have them appear before that timeline.

I haven't kept up with the writers interviews since the show started, but when they were still teasing BCS, the idea was that it would span a timeline before, during, and post BB. BCS wasn't intended to be a prequel to BB, it was intended to tell the story of a different character of the same universe.

Whether or not they've reversed course on that, I don't know.

Mike reading the Handyman magazine in his booth. Nice.

Drill scene was indeed great. Another excellent episode.
Did anyone fact-check the month/year of the issue of Handyman to make sure it corresponds to the correct year the show is set in?

I think I know where this is going.
If I am right, then spoilers,..

I went back and looked at the script from the end of last season, Chuck admits on the tape that his mind isn't working right because of his condition:

" It's this *******ed electricity! It's wearing me down! It's wearing down my faculties! My brain my mind it used to be You know, it used to work! And now it doesn't anymore"

http://www.springfieldspringfield.co.uk/view_episode_scripts.php?tv-show=better-call-saul-2015&episode=s02e10

.Jimmy took the pictures to prove the point. New Mexico is a one party consent state on recordings, but if Chuck is not competent then he can't give consent, So in one pass Jimmy can skate on the charges, and put his brothers career in jeopardy, while claiming he said it because of his brothers mental state.
There is also the matter of someone in his condition using the tape recorder, and then telling the court he couldn't be around electricity.

Jimmy is going to destroy him and be heartbroken when he's done.
I will not feel bad at all if Chuck is ruined or even ends up dead. Screw that bastage.

We talked about it earlier in the thread, but it's amazing how they make us feel about these characters. They've only shown Chuck to be a highly successful lawyer, very principled in the law and justice and not dirty in any way. Hugely successful partner in a law firm, widely respected by peers and colleagues. However, he is annoying as hell and not fun to be around as far as we can tell. Stick up his ass.

Jimmy has been shown as someone who has seen jail time, lies and manipulates, he even embezzled from his own father to the extent it hurt his father's business. Not admirable in any way but a lot of fun to be around and has good in him as well.

We hate Chuck and love Jimmy.

I really like how well Steven Bauer has played the Don Eladio character across both series. He does such a smooth job with the character. There is an incredible amount of tension in every scene that he's in, but it never involves him acting like a screaming, raving lunatic to pull it off.
Agree Bauer has been awesome.

what i like is that none of the old characters seemed forced into BCS. a lot of movies/shows do this and it feels forced and unnatural i.e.. Jango Fet. (actually a lot of Star Wars stuff).

everything is flowing , intelligent, and feels like it belongs. almost as if BCS was made before BB.

i've posted this before but is there any doubt left that Kim Wexler is easily now the most likeable character in the BB/BCS universe? ok maybe Mike gets that admiration from fans too but Kim just makes you root for her and want good things for her.

This show just keeps getting better, and bringing back the old characters just makes me happier. When this show was originally announced I just thought perhaps AMC didn't have any better ideas in the pipeline, but it's truly surprised me how great it is, I love this show. I sure hope they can take home some emmies or golden globes. Sorry if it won anything for season 1 or 2, I didn't remember if they did.
oragator

I hope it wins some awards, believe it or not ratings are down 30% this year. They are still high enough that it will get a season 4, but beyond that becomes murky if they continue to fall. It needs some good press.

I'm not surprised. The wet paint pacing is going to push a lot of people to wait to marathon when it's over.

As much as I love the artistry of the show, I'm not sure we need film school shorts in every episode.

I've seen 2 episodes of Breaking Bad, the first one and the first episode that Saul is prevalent in.

I love BCS and can't wait to watch it every week. It hasn't affected my ability to enjoy the show in the least.

They spent a lot of detail in the run up to and during the hearing on the issue of "damaged" vs. "destroyed" and "personal property" vs. "tape". Will those distinctions and what Chuck signed off on come into play during the bar hearing?

I thought it was kinda obvious they were angling it toward referencing the damage to the door (damaged personal property) and not the tape.

If the tape disappears ("what tape?") well then it must have been referencing the door and of course they agreed to it being in there and the wording is accurate.

Note that the tape was never mentioned except in whispers between Chuck and Howard. Jimmy never said it in his apology, etc. And there was no stenographer so nothing said there is on record.

Scotch
How long do you want to ignore this user?
The wording of the agreement does seems to be important, I wonder if the value of the tape only being a few dollars or whatever Chuck said will come into play? There are a lot of good theories on here concerning premeditation, the fact that the tape was a copy and the original wasn't destroyed, and also that it is under "lock and key", etc. A few of us, maybe more than a few, also think Hamlin will use the opportunity to turn on Chuck, perhaps by using nuanced wording that isn't overtly anti-Chuck, to get full control of HHM.

I think we are on or at least pretty close to the dart board, it will be fun seeing how Vince and Peter reveal the bullseye.
