Yeah, Prometheus was trying way too hard to be like an epic (but dark) blockbuster. Sounds like Covenant is going straight sci-fi horror, back to the roots of the franchise.

So in your opinion TCTTS -- pushing back The Dark Tower to late July. Truly a belief by the studios this movie could be a summer hit and potential for an epic series... or simply an extra 5-6 months to put lipstick on a pig?

This is one of my favorites and I'll no doubt be there opening night... but I just can't seem to get excited about it.

I honestly think it's exactly what they said happened... it's not a huge budget and they either needed to spend more to get the effects done in time or spend less to take their time with them (and not pay overtime). But if the studio didn't have confidence in it, they likely wouldn't have stuck it smack dab in the middle of summer. They would have moved it to September or October or something. I've never read the books, so I don't have a lot of stake in it, but I'm definitely hoping for something great.

I'll gladly take the visual effects and score from Prometheus though.

I'm cracking up at the idea of McBride and Franco broing out while they get chest burst by an alien.

It really is hilarious. I can't believe they're both in this and that it's not some kind of spoof or something.

Dunkirk Trailer 1

First bit of news: it sounds like Warner Bros. may have decided to push the Justice League trailer to early next year. Either that, or the reports that one was coming this week were misinformed.

That said... we just got confirmation that the first Bade Runner 2049 trailer is on its way, and likely hitting next week - a whopping ten months before the movie hits theaters, which is pretty rare, and very cool. So that means we may very well be getting trailers for both Alien: Covenant and the Blade Runner sequel next week, in time for Assassin's Creed and Passengers.

Cannot wait.

God, that was terrible.

I remember liking it in the theater, but every time I've seen it since then I find more things to dislike about it. Think I was just really happy that Ridley Scott made another film in the Alien universe and that was obviously a mistake. Supposedly this one will fill in a lot of the holes from Prometheus, but you'd basically have to completely remake it for that to happen. It started off fine, but as it progressed it just got worse and I don't understand how they didn't know that just based on the script alone.

Another clue the trailer will likely be released today...
