Yeah, I'm definitely going to do the 70mm for the reasons you listed, as well as catching it in a regular digital IMAX. Where are you located? The only laser IMAX that's showing the film is in Austin. At least according to the IMAX website.

Also, here's a great read on the differences between the different film release types. It's pretty crazy when you look at the difference in resolutions..

Let's try to keep this thread to just 2017. Debating whether I want to start a 2018 thread or not. Only reason I did this one was because The Projection List hasn't relaunched yet, but that's right around the corner. That, and it can be pretty time consuming to create/update a thread like this.

People should take lessons from this one -- how to make a trailer that intrigues the audience without leaving them feeling like they've already seen the movie. Granted, it's just a teaser, but it seems even those are usually overdone.

TCTTS - I haven't paid attention in forever so not sure how common this is nowadays -- but The Dark Tower comes out on August 3rd, yet not a single critic review of it yet. I know in the past if a movie wasn't screened for critics it was a giant red flag that it was a POS, but is that still the case nowadays?

Indeed it is. I think the embargo on this one lifts the day before release and there's likely no other explanation than it's not good news.
