Littefinger is obviously winning with his "chaos is a ladder" technique. He started a war that basically wiped out the North, and simultaneously sent the Lannisters to the poorhouse, and gained a lordship in the meantime. And he will try to wrap up the North by marrying his new son (possibly his biological son, based on hint given above) to the presumed heir of the North. He's good.

Once again, the Hound has all of the best lines in the show.

Not to get all geographical again, but is the fire at Craster's close enough to the wall that it could be mistaken for the bonfire signal that Mance Rader told his scouting party to look for? Could they see it and prematurely jump Castle Black without reinforcements north of the wall? The show made a point to show how big the fire was and Jon Snow looking up at the smoke it created. It would be nice for everyone but Ygritte to get smoked trying an assault on a fortified position.

Yep, Littlefinger needed chaos and houses crumbling to rise, which is exactly what he set off by killing Arryn and pitting Stark vs. Lannister.

It cracked me up when that ****head Robin threw the bird out of the moon door.

If you remember back to the first episode this season, Bran touched a similar tree and had a vision. Those trees are the ones people in the North pray to, and have faces. You'll remember Ned Stark cleaning his sword under one in Season 1, Jon and Sam said their vows for the Night's Watch to one, etc.

It's kinda sad how much I love this show. When I find out one of my friends also watches our conversation immediately lasts an extra 15 minutes.

I have been wondering the same thing. Does anyone else think this will start the assault at the Wall?

So what is yalls take on Danny's decision to stay and "rule"? I don't blame her really. She has plenty of conquered lands and people to worry about. Looks like some of the cities she conquered looked pretty dang wealthy.

One word came to mind: "stalling".

I don't know if it happened like this in the book, so either the writers are stalling for time, or Dany is getting scared now that she is actually able to sail to Westeros, and she's the one stalling. Or both.

I think she's making the right call. If she wants to rule she'll need to maintain cities she freed.

I thought it was annoying Bran didn't call out and explain to Jon what he was doing. With sufficient explanation, I think Jon would understand and let Bran continue on his trip north. I get the rationale but I would've liked to see Jon get in the loop on that escapade.

So is Podrick going to use his gods given gifts to please Brienne at any point? Seems curious they would team up a giant chick with a dude with a giant member.
DannyDuberstein

I think she realizes she has more to learn. There's more to be done than just taking King's Landing/Westeros. Taking it doesn't do you any good if you can't rule it, so Slaver's Bay should be a good trial run to rule.

It also relates back to Tywin's lesson to Tommen about what makes a good king, and it particularly relates to his example of Robert. Being able to fight and win the throne doesn't mean one can effectively rule it. She's being the "wise" queen that realizes there will be more to being queen than taking the throne.

With what Jon has seen in the north (note his comment to the Craster chicks that Mance was coming and there are worse things out there than Mance), combined with the way Jon feels about Robb's death and not being able to help... no way he would have let Bran continue on his journey.
DannyDuberstein

Agree. I don't think there is any way that Jon would allow Bran to stay given all the danger north of the wall, the fact the Stark house has been decimated, and the fact Jon was unable to prevent any of it.

She has shown herself to be motivated by principle, not expediency. I don't believe it's stalling, I believe it's a desire not to see what she has done, undone.

And I wouldn't call it "stalling" in the first place, since there's serious doubt whether their force is large enough to conquer Westeros. Choosing the proper time and place isn't stalling, if it hasn't arrived yet. Stalling is not acting/hesitating even when everyone/everything else is ready to go.

Exactly. Jon will protect the heir of Winterfell.

Arya mentioned the Red Woman (Melisandre) in her people to kill list.

Can someone refresh for me when she encountered her and why she wants to kill her? I can't remember their paths crossing at all.
redline248

Melisandre came to Beric's camp to take Gendry. That's why Arya wants to kill her, Beric and Thoros b/c they all conspired to let Gendry be taken.

Robin and his mom are very creepy. I think I'd almost rather be in Kings Landing than with those two.

It was mentioned in the previous episode that Craster's Keep is 60 miles from the wall.

What happened to Rickon Stark? He left with the willing, right? Where did they go?

I thought it was weird that the little weird Aryn boy was so infatuated with the hole in the floor. It gave me the creeps....almost like we'll see someone get thrown/tripped/pushed down there at some point.

So if Lysa has been in on this all along, she did a pretty good acting job in front of her sister in season 1. Wonder if she was conspiring with LF at that point as well (when it came to Tyrion) or if she was acting on her own with Cat....?

The wildling chick took he and Sh**** Dog to Big John Umbers (another northern house like Bolton) if I remember correctly.

We already have in Bronn fighting for Tyrion in his trial by combat. But I suspect we'll see more.

So stupid.

It Bronn goes up to t for Tyrion again, I bet he loses. We haven't seen The Mountain in a while so I wonder if he's coming down.
Stive
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I think I read before the season started that The Mountain had been recast (for a 3rd time now), which likely means we'll see him before the season ends. They were talking about it in the same breath that they mentioned that the Daario (sp) guy with Dany had been recast.

With the disgust that Prince Oberyon (once again...sp) has for the Mountain due to the Mountain killing his sister, I'm hoping we see a battle between those two. Although it would be sweet to see the Hound and Arya tag team and kill the Mountain on a joint venture.
