It's fun to speculate on what will happen, but we don't need intentional spoilers. Why even do that? Just stay on the other thread. It's not like you win a prize for being correct.

Knowing what I do now, there are definitely spoilers in thus thread from people pretending to be non-book readers. As OP and a book reader who is very careful about spoilers(I try not to join the speculation discussions because they are fun to read), If staff appoints me, I would be happy to Mod this thread.

I would be a watcher on the walls, I will guard the realms of this thread...

Seriously Hunter....get a few other book readers and vote down the spoiler posts.

The difficult thing is if you vote down a spoiler post it becomes obvious it was a spoiler. It's unfortunate but it makes it hard for even the Non Readers to "guess" because if they guess right they could be considered a reader.

This is a big reason why I read the books, I realized halfway in to Season 1 that I would be spoiled if I didn't read them.

The key is coincidence vs a trend of "somehow predicting correctly". I think the key is to know who the Book readers and the weak willed wiki watchers(viewers that know the spoilers) are.

Also SP I have no idea what your suggesting with that gif...

Fine with me, hunter. I don't know ish about the books or wiki whatever...plus my guesses are crap.

What about a non-reader who predicts something that happens to be correct? This will be almost impossible to enforce accurately.

I would be curious to see what percentage of the posts on this thread deal with "policing" spoilers and actual show discussion.

Cross reference them for posts on the spoiler thread.

Most of us are making predictions like Chip Brown: throw enough **** against the wall and something is bound to stick.

But if there's someone who is consistently guessing correctly, then I don't have a problem with outing them. I guess we could wait 10 days until the seasons over then bash them.

for the record....on what i saw...i was not talking about recent events fyi...

1. not the same person doing it repeatedly, so it "could" be lucky guesses.
2. i looked back through the history of this thread/season at major milestones, it was never the major event but a minor related event after usually.
3. i wasn't that concerned because usually the actual prediction did not get much traction and therefore i doubt it spoiled much of anything for anyone, a few were debated.
4. i never saw anyone gloating about their guess after which means maybe it was just that.

i mean on previous ones you could look back now and find them yourselves.

1. just after dontos shows back up someone predicts the necklace might be important and goes to some length to say thats just speculation and not based on anything they have read - seems suspicious to even have to say that. seeing as how in the book dontos supplied a hairnet with amethysts containing the poison this seemed sketchy at best, even reading the book it was totally shocking when revealed.

2. after joffrey was killed almost immediately somebody predicted it was Olenna Tyrell - i found that almost incredibly impossible to have predicted. this generated a lot of debate actually but no consensus...still i found the immediate leap to her surprising. other ideas were thrown around but a select few kept true to her although they could not say why as it did not help her or margeary directly except to not be married to a lunatic of course. there were other more obvious suspects i believe.

3. there were some predictions of littlefinger tossing Lyssa out the moondoor although these seemed quite innocent to me, they followed others predicting sansa, robin or even littlefinger getting tossed....

there are others but actually some have not transpired yet so i would not call those out.

thats the problem with modding this - as soon as anyone that knows edits it, then everyone knows it was something true even if it was a wild guess and people will ask what it was and someone who saw it will repeat it, etc....

it might be best to just let it go....unless it becomes blatant.

I still think it was the cake that was poisoned. Dead bird, etc.

I admit guessing that someone was headed out the moon door but I don't think I guessed Lysa. The way they showed the weird kid throwing that toy out seemed too obvious.

I agree about the posters talking about the necklace earlier on the thread. People were throwing that out when they should have had absolutely no clue.

He wasn't comparing the two other than to point out a subtle difference in the two and how that might show a poster purposefully spoiling or not.


I've been as big of a anti book reader nazi as anyone but I don't hold that against him. That's basically the same thing the guy that posts his weekly big review does.

I'm not asking for him to be banned I just don't want book differences, etc. mentioned here.

It doesn't make any sense that the OP to a non spoiler thread is a book reader.

Book readers should not be posting on a non spoiler thread.

The presence of book readers isn't the problem. They should be allowed to watch, enjoy, and talk about the show as its own separate entertainment entity. The problem is when some book readers start discussing speculation
