Yeah, her tactics need work which is accomplished by a combo of coaching and racing more. He's a fish out of water coaching the 800 and she's not racing enough to learn better on her own via experience. The fall was not just some unlucky fluke. It's what happens when your tactics aren't good and you are also naturally uncomfortable sharing a lane.

Still 3 more diving events. China will most likely win Gold in all 8 diving events.

Same goes with Table Tennis so another 2 golds there.

They'll probably win both golds for synchronized swimming since Russia isn't there.

China also won 50% of the Golds in weightlifting in 2021. If they do the same this year, its another 5 golds.

So you are looking at China probably ending up around 35+ Golds.



The USA has their work cut out for them.

China really shows what you can do when you forcibly put your resources into winning the lower hanging fruit of Olympic medals. Take the sports that don't have money that only have niche following in the west and throw your state sponsored resources at them. A long term plan to win the Olympic medal count. It all seems calculated.
