I don't get why they can't let her keep it. It was an objective judging error (start value). Not that they went back and reviewed for a subjective score. The judges screwed up.

But she DID earn it. The judges didn't give her the appropriate value for the skills she completed.

Exactly. And even the Romanian gymnastics committee had also asked in their appeal if medals could be granted to all 3 gymnasts but the IOC is still choosing to strip Chiles'.

She earned it. They are walking back with the excuse that the inquiry was "4 seconds too late" even though they approved it at the time AND we have video evidence it's within the time limit.

Yes, but those errors happen a lot because the judges don't get the benefit of replay. My understanding is that Chiles base score was simply just wrong. That is a completely different situation than the judges missing an out of bounds.

Exactly. And don't they usually have a sensor for that? Even still, let's say if she wasn't OOB, her coach should've submitted an inquiry for that during the meet. They didn't so that shouldn't even be a talking point at this time.
