If I were to remix that it'd be:
1 oz lime
1/4 oz agave syrup *forgot this
1/2 oz dry curaco
1.5oz Blanco tequila
1/2oz Grand Marnier float

Shaken and dirty dump over pebble ice.

My preferred Margarita ratio is a modified sour of 2 parts Tequila, 1 Part Lime Juice and .75 Parts 1:1 Simple Syrup (or about half that if it's Agave). I'll also usually throw in about .5 parts Triple Sec and .5 parts Ancho Reyes. A dash of orange bitters and splash of Olive Juice doesn't suck either. Glass rimmed with Tajin Chamoy Sauce then dipped in Tajin.

Edit: I should add that a 1:1 ginger simple really kicks it up a notch!

I think it could be 2 oz tequila easily but this recipe is pretty balanced.

I thought it was a typo, TBH. You've only got 1/6 part tequila before dilution, and twice as much orange liqueur as tequila. That's in no way a balanced margarita. If you like it, though, thumbs up and cheers!

I read it again and did have a typo. 1-1/2 oz tequlia.

Army & Navy cocktail. I just discovered this drink. The recipe varies based on where you look. I like this one, but with an orange peel garnish.

This stuff varies a lot in sweetness. I buy mine from Lei Low if you're in Houston.

The orgeat I used wasn't sweet enough, so I added about 0.25 oz of simple syrup to the recipe.

It's not exactly what I expected. It's not as sweet as I thought it would be. It's definitely refreshing though.

My 1st order of dried cherries to rehydrate for cocktails

Wow, these are amazing dried. They are crack before boozeled. There's so much sugar, I'm not sure there's the need for sugar. BUT...a lot of "research " needs to happen.

Also a good orgeat cocktail. I like to bump up the orgeat to 0.75 oz.

The original recipe actually specifies Rose's Lime cordial.

Eh, probably for limited ingredients of the time.

Make it both ways, I'm sure fresh limes will taste better.

According to Beachbum Berry, the Suffering ******* was invented during WWII by Joe Scialom at the Long Bar in the Shepheard's Hotel, Cairo. It was a favorite of RAF crews stationed there. Rose's lime cordial (invented and patented almost a century earlier in England as a way to preserve lime juice using sugar) would have been easier to keep on hand than fresh limes. The sweetened and more tart flavor profile of lime cordial gives the SB a different taste than a daiquiri or other cocktail where lime juice works better because of the citrus profile. Another example where lime cordial is essential is the gin gimlet. It's not a case where lime juice can substitute for lime cordial.
