Sub it in place of orange liqueur in a Mai Tai.

A Lion's Tail Riff made of 50:50 blend of MWND and OFSBBS. Figured the baking spice notes in the dram would pair well with the Allspice Dram. I wasn't wrong. Used Tiki bitters in place of Ango and my syrup was ginger. C'est magnifique! Calling it:

"Wam, Bam, Thank You Dram!"

Tried the improved. Not as good as a Saz but a nice twist.

Yeah I'm just not a big fan of maraschino liqueur. There's just something off putting about it to me.

The Last Word is my favorite drink, so this is blasphemy to me.

If you really want to change it up, try a Final Word.

Same concept as a Last Word, but swap out the gin for a smokey Scotch and lime for a lemon. It's like a more herbal penicillin.

I haven't tried that one yet, but my favorite riff on the Last Word is to use a really high quality tequila like Ocho anejo instead of gin. I use Castelvetrano olives and a lime peel for garnish.

Grey Goose Peartini

This is my "crowd pleaser" drink for those people who only like sweet or vodka based drinks.

2 oz GREY GOOSE La Poire Flavored Vodka
1 oz Vanilla Liqueur
1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
0.75 oz Sugar Syrup
+ Pear Slice garnish (optional)

Very close to a St. Germain Gimlet. I use these proportions for the missus, but she likes to substitute Fresca for the club soda:

2oz Absolut Pear vodka
1oz St. Germain elderflower liqueur
1/2oz fresh lime juice
splash of club soda to taste

Also try substituting Domain de Canton ginger liqueur for the elderflower if you prefer a little spicy over floral.

Randomly found a bottle of yellow chartreuse at TW. I've never had it before. Trying a Greenpoint and it's pretty tasty

I've been enjoying these sunny, lemony, boozy drinks while we have had 10 days of very cold weather, ice and snow in north Arkansas.

Amalfi Martini

2 oz. Dry Gin (I like Beefeater)
1oz. Limoncello
1Tbs.Fresh Lemon juice
1 tsp. Rich Simple Syrup
Optional 2 dashes Orange or Lemon Bitters.

Assemble ingredients in a mixing glass. Stir until well chilled. Strain into chilled Martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

I bought a bottle based on your recommendation and I must say I'm not disappointed in the least! Goes great with a margarita!

Don't know if this has been posted here, but David Wondrich has a martini calculator where you can play with different gins and vermouth to hit the sweet spot of abv to get a dry but balanced martini. If I did the math right, a 3:1 Ford's gin/Dolin Vermouth hits that sweet spot every time.

Been on a sazerac kick also using High West rye but haven't found Peychaud bitters. Been using Fee Brothers Old Fashioned Aromatic but also have angostura. How different from the ang are the Peychaud?

Agreed, should be easy to find Peychaud's. Ango is not a substitute for Peychaud's. The two have different flavor profiles. I'm not a purist about much when making cocktails; experimentation is part of the fun. But a Sazerac with Ango is just not done. It's not a Sazerac anymore.

Yeah the Fee Bros is different from real angostura but again, good excuse as any to hit the store. Probably find something else I can't live without while I'm at it!

Got some Chinola (based on recommendations here) and Cynar yesterday myself! Made a Little Italy last night with Rittenhouse BIB, Dolin Rouge, and Cynar. Definitely worth looking for.

I've been making a Cadillac Margarita the past few weekends.

1/2 oz agave syrup
1/2 oz lime juice (also used super juice)
1/2 oz lemon juice
1-1/2 oz blanco tequila (it was good with blanco and a light reposado)
1/2 oz orange liqueur (recipe calls for Naranja, I used Cointreau)

Shake over ice and double strain over big cube

float 1/2 oz Gran Marnier
dried lime wheel garnish if you have it.

This is a great margarita and goes down a little too easy. No photos of this one.
