The secret to using vermouth in bourbon/rye cocktails is to stop buying cheap vermouth. Make a Manhattan or Boulevardier with Cocchi or Punt e Mes, and you'll be amazed how much better it is than M&R or even Dolin.aquaboss98 said:
Cant get behind Campari or Vermouth in the Boulevardier. Waste of good whiskey in my book. Ill stick to Old Fashions. Not a gin guy but can't imagine that would change my opinion with a Negroni.
My preferred mix:
2oz Bourbon/Whiskey
4 dash Angastura bitters
1 dash orange bitters
1/4-1/2 oz simple syrup
Cherry
Orange Peel if available
These are my toddler's favorite bath toy. He loves mixing stuff up!betadawg1 said:
I gone to using these exclusively for all my cocktail making.

Yeah I'm just not a big fan of maraschino liqueur. There's just something off putting about it to me.
