...I don't see where race plays a part in this. The story would have been exactly the same if the Union soldiers were white.

Ross who opposed the KKK supposedly ordered surrendering Union soldiers to be murdered, because that's what he Union Army was doing to Confederate soldiers. aTm does not consider taking down statue.
