Hardly any time left so this one is probably over. Sucks we couldn't take care of a struggling Knicks team.

We are playing worse than our record suggests.

OKC lost to the Nets tonight. Never wanna lose to an inferior opponent, but it's not going to kill us.

37 points in the first tonight against the CP3-less Clippers

Up big so far. Definitely don't mind a 31 point lead.

70-35 at half.

Baynes was playing against the Clippers scrubs, but I still like how smooth and decisive he was around the basket tonight.

Spurs woke up for a game. Fully expect them to fall back into hibernation mode again until some meaningful games arrive. It's obvious they have been coasting this entire season. Pop hurt their feelings after the Knicks game so they woke up for a night.

Hope Tiago is alright. He left in the third quarter with a sprained shoulder and didn't return.

Nope, don't care. Just contributes to the overly PC world we are in.

Tiago Splitter out 3-5 weeks with sprained shoulder. That hurts.

That stinks even as frustratingly soft as he can be at times. Anyone else disappointed with Kawhi this year? I'm thinking less and less that he can make the jump to all star type player. He shows flashes but he just hasn't made the jump I thought he would this year. I know he doesn't get a lot of touches in our offense but he hasn't done much with the ones he gets. And his 3pt shooting is abysmal.

But I thought Kawhi was better than Parsons?

Really I think all of our starters other than timmy have been disappointing (dg not Marco).

I'd still take Kawhi over parsons. He's light years ahead defensively.

Kawhi already showed in the Finals what kind of player he is. He's an elite defender who can match up physically with the big, versatile SF/PF types, get his own shot, and get double digit rebounds when he chooses to... not a lot of players like that. The Spurs have been coasting as a team, and Leonard has been part of that. However, he is still posting a DRtg of 98, which is pretty outstanding considering the players he is asked to cover.

There have been a few times this year where he flat took over the game on both ends. When he wants to, he can.

you can take him and his passive NBA game. I'll take parsons who can actually take over games and have an impact on a more consistent basis.

Parsons is a very good player. He's having a great year and deserves to be an all-star. He definitely is a more complete offensive player than Kawhi. However, to say that he has more of an impact than Kawhi is not correct. Kawhi brings it every night defenisively. And he proves his worth even more in a 7 game series guarding Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, etc. You need someone like Kawhi if you want to go deep into the post season.

My frustration stems from him missing open shots. Hopefully he's just in a slump. He's a gym rat and it's definitely not for lack of effort.

I also wouldn't call Kawhi passive. In the Spurs offense, he's literally the 4th option.

he's tayshaun prince, with darker skin. Love his game, but don't kid yourself just because he had one good finals series.

Thats exactly why i expect him to play well. He was arguably our best player at the highest level of basketball.

Have you even watched a TNT broadcast? Those guys love Kawhi as much as we do.

I can't believe they let that call on belinelli go. Shot clock turned off and Memphis is trying to foul and they let it go. Just awful.

Whew! Pulled that out after blowing the lead. Great drive by Manu!

Not to sound like Seinfeld, but what is the deal with Marco Belinelli?

Throughout the game last night, I'm thinking this is one of the more underrated players in the league out there, but wondering why he's on his 5th team in 7 years. But in the last 1:50, he has a bad pass for a turnover, 1 or 2 fouls, misses a long 3 pt shot with about 10 seconds on the shot clock, and then another turnover, and almost singlehandedly blew the game for the Spurs.

All game long, I'm thinking he was a great addition and will thrive with the organization, but why do you think he hasn't stuck with teams longer?

Ulrich
How long do you want to ignore this user?
He's definitely a good addition, but I don't think he should be touching the ball much in the last 5 minutes unless it's to catch and shoot. I much prefer Green and Leonard at the 2/3 late anyway.

As for why he hasn't stuck anywhere... his first 3 teams were GSW, TOR, and NOH, none of whom were models for how to build a roster while he was there. He has always been a good 3 point shooter, but nowhere near where he is right now, and when he was in Chicago he only shot 36%. He was a 7-12 ppg guy who hasn't shown a lot of defense. Lots of those floating around.

Belinelli is improving every year. He is 10x the player now than he was just two years ago.

Anyway, he got fouled on that last play which gave him the bloody nose and that would have ended the game. Grizz were down 3 with 10 seconds and we're pretty much trying to foul in that situation and the ref just let it go. Awful officiating which almost cost the spurs the game.

I'm not denying it was a bad call (separate point about NBA refs having a problem of not being quicker to call fouls at the end of games), but I also thought it was stupid for him to dribble right into a double team, which is why I brought up those other things too. Him fouling twice, the long 3 point attempt with plenty of time on the shot clock, etc.

At under $3 million a year, the guy is a great addition.
