I readily admit my 50 commit is not going to happen. I was simply saying that if his knees, back, feet etc all held up then he could set the record. Obviously thats a big if and won't happen. Heck, Willis played until he was 45 and Duncan is taller and exponentially better in all aspects if the game. You can't teach 7ft at any age and Duncan's skill set and size combo requires less athleticism than almost any player in the NBA.

Playing ok enough so far. Manu took a good charge and Tony is active early.
Pretty lackadaisical effort tonight but it looks like they are starting to turn it on a little now.

I didn't get to watch tonight, but just looking at the box score it appears defense was optional. Parker and Ginobili had big games and Danny Green being 4/4 from the field is very encouraging. Belinelli has really struggled shooting for about the last week and a half, he needs to get going when the playoffs roll around.
I just realized that after last nights win, the Spurs are tied with the Thunder and Pacers for the best record in the league. I know that Pop doesn't care about having the 1 seed or the best record, but if we can get home court through out it would be huge.
I agree. With the role players it is good to have home court as those guys don't always travel well.
Manu isn't what he used to be so we can't necessarily rely on him on the road to power the second unit through a rough patch.

Lakers beat Thunder. Spurs now 1st in the west.
There's still 20 games left to play in the season, but we can start looking ahead to some potential first round match ups.
Obviously, being the first seed (and having the overall best record) would be ideal, but not sliding to #3 is most important IMO because it avoids a first round matchup with Golden State.
Dallas and Phoenix are the most ideal first round opponents for the Spurs because they're both completely helpless against the pick and roll.
Memphis is the opponent I would want to see the least in the first round. They really struggle to score, but they still play tough D and can pound it down low with Gasol and ZBo. I'm not worried about losing that series, but I could see the Grizz stealing a game or two. If the Thunder end up with the 1 seed, I hope they have to face Memphis to hopefully drag it out more than 4 games.

Best record in basketball. Pretty remarkable considering all of the injuries. I hope they really are turning the corner.
