While the result sucked, this team is playing so much better than at the beginning of the year. Can definitely keep 4th spot if we keep this up

But for ****s sake Xhaka is just a walking PK or red card given away in big matches

I thought we deserved at least a draw. I just don't see how he can say the Xhaka foul is a penalty, but not the Ederson one.

That's missed penalties against both Manchester teams this year and it's ridiculous

Agreed. Even with that, Martinelli puts that that ball in the back of the net at the 51st and we probably win.

Yikes. He completely lost where he was on the field.

Martinelli put a little too much juice on the shot but I recognize he would have seen the City player in the middle of the goal

AMN to Roma on loan is close. Apparently we're gonna put in a competitive bid for Vlahovic but he doesn't want to come here in which case I'd say screw it and go get someone else.

Also Liverpool may have some Covid issues for the Thursday cup game.

True. But Partey is only going to miss at most, 2 league games and will be back (as long as he's vaccinated to UK standards) for the Wolves match on Feb. 10th.

Now he will miss 2 league cup matches and possibly 2 FA cup matches, but I doubt he would have started most of those anyways.

Current schedule looks like this.

01/09 Nottingham Forest (H) (Forest have a Covid outbreak so it'll probably be postponed)
01/13 Liverpool (A)
01/16 Spurs (A)
01/20 Liverpool (H)
01/22 Burnley (H) Have to think this gets moved to Sunday

I'd say screw it and just play the kids in the EFL Cup. We have to keep the league momentum going. Really can't afford to lose to the spuds.
