We're 6 matches into a season with 2 of the hardest matches already done.
One thing I'll say about Xhaka. Anytime he comes back from a red card he always seems to play pretty well. Sounds like his injury might be long term

Xhaka has a ligament rupture, not a major one. Initial reports say 6-8 weeks out
Hopefully we can get Xhaka back in time for the African Cup, with Partey out.
We look like a different team with the young players firing and the new signings have made a big difference. If we can keep the form that we had in the 2nd half of season and avoid a a prolonged slump like we had last fall, we could be in a good position for at least top 6. Especially when you see clubs like Leicester off to a bad start.

I don't remember anyone wanting Maddison over Odegaard. Instead, I think most thought that Odegaard to Arsenal was not ever going to happen with RM rebuilding. Thankfully, they sold him to us and he's been playing great.
The next issue as I see it is adding depth because we have none. Laca, Pepe, AMN, and Nuno appear to be the only depth we have on this team right now and only Pepe is above average in my opinion. Sell off the dead weight and start building.

I'm not saying on this board specifically but there were a lot of Arsenal fans that preferred Maddison over Odegaard, I heard it on podcasts and on social media. Doesn't matter now, we got him, and we're lucky to have him.
Totally agree with you on our depth issue. Think we will need to permanently offload some of the players currently on loan and will have to get into Europe to see us add depth.
