Transtar said Memorial between Shepherd and downtown was open, but barricades were up as of 6 AM this morning. Had to go down Kirby to SW freeway to get to Hobby this morning.

Took off AT 6:45 am from Hobby and judging by the view from thefirst 4 minutes of the flight, it's a mess down there.

I grew up on Fawnview and Lakewood Forest Drive. From 1977-1988 (Gardenglen didn't even exist when we moved in...they built that street later). Did you know the Betzings, Pryzbalas (spelling).....

I remember that building/'house between the church and cypress creek that was right on Grant and Lakewood Forest drive...it was built up high on stilts. What was that subdivision off of Grant ...I think Grantwood? It always flooded back there.

Our house on Fawnview never flooded..even during Hurricane Alicia (I think that was the one in the early 80's).

I grew up on Primrose off of Lakewood Forest Drive. Our back yard was a forest that you could walk through to see HP. Was there from late 80's to mid 90's. Only remember one big flood event. Anyway, stay safe...

I need to get to the office at 1960/6 and it looks like it's going to take almost 30 min to go 8 miles

just got to work and realized one of my coworkers wasn't here. remembered he's on vacation in Scotland and Ireland for the next two weeks. this was a vacation that him and his wife we're supposed to take last year but she had to have a surgery. their house is in JV. i hope he has a neighbor that could check on it for him. would suck to be on vacation wondering if you were coming back to a flooded house.
