Has anyone had problems setting up gmail on the Q? It will send email but nothing shows in my inbox when I tell it to send/recieve.

I heard it is a pain to set up the Q for gmail. I just go to gmail.com to check my mail on the Q. Its super quick.

Ya, thats what I've been doing. That will do then.

I set it up pretty easily. It checks Gmail automatically every 30 minutes (you can customize how often it send/receives).

Also, make sure you have POP enabled in your gmail settings.

hmm that is the same directions I used! My friend used the same directions and it worked for him. Sigh..o well..thanks for the help.

How about this: Working Assets has an offer to buyout your existing contract, but they lease their bandwidth from Sprint. Is there any way to use this to our advantage somehow?

I am not really sure how we can use that. If you sign up with Working Assets then all concerns, including trying to get free perks and stuff has to go through them. I much rather deal with Sprint for that.

Now something that will definitely be useful.. remember that the Iphone will be released on June 29th. AT&T has stated that it 1 million people have inquired about the phone. I promise we could definitely use this, many people will quit Sprint for the Iphone. I wonder what they will offer in return?

My Q has officially died, MAN that was fast!

This morning I went to check it to see if I'd missed any calls when I was away from my desk and it appeared shut off. That's odd because I never shutoff my phone. Well, I hit the power button and it tried to boot up but locks up on the startup screen. After several attempts I finally decided to try a master reset and now the phone will not even boot.

Yay Q.

Mine would not charge at all for about a day, then it started charging again.

I knew I should have avoided Motorola ...

Wonder if Sprint will assist.... I'm thinking not....

let me know what you find out. mine didn't want to charge last night and a friend of mine had the same problem. seems to work now tho, and im posting from it now.

Mine is not charging again today.

It finally did charge up last time, but never fully. I just kept unplugging it to check and then plugging it back in, and it finally worked.

It got low again today, and I plugged it in about 4 hours ago and it has not charged at all since then.

Brought it in to a sprint repair center, they have a policy where they have to fix it in 35-45 minutes while you wait. Even though I dropped it off, they're replacing the phone for me.

Only drawback is I lose all my info in the phone, time to purchase Sprite Backup for future instances.

This will end up costing me $55.

I have called retentions a couple of times to see what I can get out of them (contract expired June 1st and I have been with Sprint since 1999). They have thrown out a lot as far as services being free and whatnot, but they don't seem to be willing to come off of the prices of the phones. They will go down to the internet posted price but no further. I am specifically trying to get the Samsung IP-830W. Do you have any tips or tricks that I can use to try and get this phone?

It's not a totally acceptable solution, but I figured out that if I turn the phone off, it will charge just fine. I am guessing I just need a firmware update or something.

Mine didn't fully charge last night either. I think when I have some time I'm going to take it into the store and see if there is an update or something that can be done or atleast see what they say/ what can I get.

McInnis03 call retentions and seriously tell them our frustated you are with your phone and you have had the phone for less than 3 months you already are getting it replaced. Tell them the Sprint store is charging you $55 to replace it and would like compensation for the charge.

I haven't had any big problems with my Q. I think I remember once or twice I would plug it to the charger and notice it wouldn't be charging. I jsut unplug then replugged and it was fine. For upgrades you can call *2 and ask for a phone update and they will flag your phone and tell you to re-dial *2 and it will automatically update your phone. However this is more like cell tower information. For true phone software update you need to go to the store. But there hasn't been an software update since April.

Has anyone had experience with the nextel Buzz phones? Can you get these phones with the SERO plan?

Yes you can get SERO on a Nextel plan and get the buzz phones as well. I think it is $60 for the Buzz phone through SERO.

My Q is on the fritz too - I give it a day.

Well, I'm on Q #2 now. I bought the $4/month insurance that covers me if it fritz's up again I get it repaired free instead of $55. I'm not sure if that $55 would be more if the phone wasn't in the 3 month motorola warranty period.

Mine will turn on and then once it gets to the home screen (the screen with the icons, message indicator, etc.) it freezes.

A few days ago my phone said the memory was almost full. But now I can't go in and delete anything.

Is this what happened with your phone?

Just did a Master Reset.

Freaking blows.

Now I have to find a way to get my old contacts off of my old Cingular phone.

Dude if you were to check the first page you will notice there is a link to the June rebate which and the Mogul on it. It is on there as the PPC-6800.

Make sure to also send in the Kelloggs rebate!!

Mine is again charging normally. We'll see how long it lasts...

Is there a nice way to ask e-care email support for compensation for being completeley useless and unable to find a solution to my problem. I sent in my Kellogg rebate in around the middle of May and it came back as Invalid. It said I did not send in the packing slip, which is crap cause I have copies of all I sent in.

What is a nice way of saying "I want something free for this crap"

Anyone else had this problem?

whoa, whoa geoaggie. So you didn't get your $75 back? Call the rebate center, IMMEDIATELY and they will fix it. Tell them you have the Kellogs rebate that came back invalid and it shouldn't because you sent everything correct. Worse case they will ask you to fax your copy of the rebate (which I hope you made, which I stated in the first post). Once they fix the error they will state," your check will be sent out 4 to 6 weeks." They you say, "What 6 weeks, that's a long time. Can you make it shorter?" Then they will expedite it to 15 days. This is what exactly happened to me and this is what I did.

Now if you would like to go to the ecare route and possible get the $75 added to your account immediately. Simply e-mail them and tell them that your rebate was invaild and you have no idea why and would like the $75 be added to your account because you have become very frustated with their Rebate Department., blah blah blah.
