How long do you want to ignore this user?
what do you mean it is "only for regular data plans, not blackberries"

Will this affect what I can get/do on my Motorola Q?

What does "unlimited Vision/Power Vision" enable me to do?

With the SERO plan you get unlimited data, this includes email, web browsing, downloading (you may pay for certain files, but the process of downloading itself is free) and free picture messaging.

BigAg, you'll be able to surf the net unlimited for free. Other plans from other providers charge you per kilobyte of data. You'll be able to stream music and video from the internet free. Basically, you can do what you do on your computer without paying extra. You can access and send emails free.

Exactly this will not affect what you can do with the Q. Whatever data or internet surfing you do will be FREE. Like McInnis said you even stream video and music from web sites or from your own PC.

Blackberries uses a totally different network, even requires a different data plan. That is why if you get a blackberry phone AND a SERO plan you will have to pay for the blackberry data plan.

I stream my downloaded movies to my phone when I am out "shopping" with the girlfriend. Go to http://www.orb.com Its amazing!

Hey Devastor, now that I've got my phone coming in and I can play the "diappointed with service so far" card, can you think of any way I could parlay this into a perk? Which one could I justify asking for due to my disappointment?

I find it hard to ask for things I feel I don't deserve, but I realize a dissatisfied customer should be given something as a reparation to the disappointment.

McInnis it all depends what you use the most. The biggest and one of the easiest thing to get is 500 txt/month free. For disappointed customers it is also easy to get a service credit of $25 perhaps $50. You decide which one then called directly to retentions. Sprint logs in your account everytime you call so they will be able to see the amounts of time you called about the shipment of the phone. Good luck, post back with the results!

Devastator,

The rebate forms say I need the packing slip or sales receipt for the phones. My parents have those in Dallas. Can I just print off our bill online from the Sprint website and send that in?

Got my Blackberry phones today. Had trouble activating them, but they are great, and didn't cost me a penny.

One thing about Sprint, I am tired of talking to someone in Pakistan that speaks no English. This one guy was trying to sell me a new plan after I told him that I wanted to activate my phone. After I told him to stop trying to sell me stuff and activate my phone, he said..

"I understand. Do you have a laptop in your house?"

I was baffled. He then gave me the correct number to call.

no...you really need your sale receipt or packing slip for the rebates to work. Can your parents scan the slips and e-mail them to you?

I got another Q from UPS today. They only charged me for one (and that one ended up being $1 after the credit). I don't think I will be returning the extra one ...
BigAg95
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Actually they paid me $49 after the $50 credit I got for turning in my old phone (which I also got for !ree!). So I made money and got two Motorola Q's!
McInnis 03
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I knew it, you got 2 phone before I got 1!

I pick mine up at the Fedex facility today though!

yeah....Awesome. That is Sprint for you. However monitor your bill closely the next months to make sure you don't get charge for the second one. This has happened before.

McInnis
I'M glad your issue for resolved. You will love the Q. You can do everything with it. When you activate your phone e-mail me and I will give you instructions for $25 referral.
BigAg95

I just double checked my bill to see if they charged me for the second phone. They did adjust the bill but get this: they changed the $99.99 charge for the Q to $49.99. So, now they have paid me $99 and given me two Motorola Q's.

**UPDATE**
Just found out you can use the coupon code SAVE50 to get anothetr $50 credit to your bill. The coupon code states, "Buy now and save! Get a $50 credit back when you apply "SAVE50" to your cart at checkout! (New phone purchase and activation only.)"

I used ecare and got it applied on my second try and no I haven't purchased a phone since Feb. I simply told ecare I forgot to apply it when I signed up with my latest Sprint Plan (even though it was 3 months ago) and if they could apply it to my account? Then I wrote the original coupon message.

ENJOY!!

devastor,
what is the difference between the rebates that you posted in you original post. The first two look like they are the same thing. (this doesnt apply to the kellogs rebate).

Ok, so I’m highly considering the SERO plan and switching over from Verizon for the biggest reason being able to have internet!! Here is my situation, currently I’m in a family share plan. My plan is to cancel my line and change the Verizon plan for my parents which will be a $175 cancellation fee, and then move over to Sprint. What is the best way for doing this? Does my phone number need to be “clear” from Verizon before I sign up with Sprint? Should I call Sprint and set up my account with them and then go change the Verizon plan? How does setting up a new account work while still using the phone on the other provider? Hopefully this made some sense, and help would be appreciated!

I think if you want to port your existing number to a new provider, your number still as to be in service. So, go to Sprint first.

That said, why would you want to pay a $175 cancellation fee. Have you tried talking Verizon into giving you a better deal?
AGEC2008
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Def tried. They won't budge. Its $45 a month for internet and lately I've had horrible customer service from them. Going to be graduating soon so its a good time to start getting bills for just my own line. I've heard where Sprint will help cover the cancellation charges.

The only difference are the dates the rebates expires. You will find on the rebate that it will give you a date range when you suppose to have purchased and activated your phone. So make sure you get the right one.

Ecare is just Sprint customer service through e-mail. My First post, #6 explains how to reach ecare and I even have their direct e-mails. Sometimes its easier to get perks through ecare than through the phone.

the enigma
How long do you want to ignore this user?
AGEC-that is the same problem I am having with Verizon now also. I called them to find out about the date our contract expires and to drop hints about the better deal I can get with Sprint and the rep said, "Wow, that is a better deal, what can I say?" to which my reply was, "What can you say" fishing for an offer to stay with Verizon and some perks but it was met with silence from the rep. This is not the first time they have not tried to keep me from staying.

Guys, I tried over 20 times calling verizon for better deals and they dont budge. i sucked it up and payed for the cancellation fee. smartest move i made. with the rebates available, you will come out about even anyways.
AGEC2008
How long do you want to ignore this user?
yup, its true..they don't seem to care if you stay or go.

geoaggie how did you go about changing from verizon and all that? I want to make sure I have all my cards right before I cut off service..and make sure I have a phone with sprint stuff like that. Can't not have a phone. Thanks for the help.

Great stuff on this thread. I have been a Sprint customer for ~7 years and my wife for ~10 years. My wife's contract just ran out, but I had renewed mine for 2 years in December.
I called Sprint and said we were thinking about switching b/c the in laws switched to Verizon, and they hooked me up.
My old plan: 800 shared min + power vision on 1 phone
My new plan (same price per mo):
2100 shared min, 200 add'l min per phone = 2500 min
Free power vision on both lines
Nights starting at 7 PM
500 txts/mo/line for free
15% loyalty discount
13% employer discount
Free Motorola Q for me
$50 Samsung m610 for wife

I got my free phone because I said I was unhappy with the sluggishness of my RAZR (which I got in Dec, but was past the 30 day return period).

Sprint definitely earned my business for a while longer!

Wife didn't like the Blackberry 7130, so she talked them and got us two Q's. We also got another $200 bucks credit on our account.

This may have been already talked about, but what services will I have to pay for to use the Q?
crewez
How long do you want to ignore this user?
To use the Q you just need Power Vision, which is normally $15/month for unlimited use.
devastor

AGEC2008 and geoaggie

First, Sprint has been known to pay for your cancellation fee to switch to Sprint!! People throughout this thread have successfully done it and I have stated this under Perks for new customers on the first page (Question #5). So make sure to let Sprint understand this is the ONLY way you will convert to Sprint and they will do it.

Second and most importantly. If you are going to port your number, talk to Sprint first, DO NOT cancel your account with Verizon. The phone number needs to be active to port it. After your number have been successfully ported than you can cancel the account. I have created a port question FAQ (Question #8) on the first page on this thread to help other people avoiding this common mistake.

I called today and they told me the only way to set up for the SERO is through the website is this true? I then called back and talked to two different people and they have no idea what the SERO plan was. What am I doing wrong?

That is absolutely not true. Some Reps are clueless. What number did you call? Call directly to the Retentions number that is post on the first page. Since you are moving providers you should have no problems.
AGEC2008
How long do you want to ignore this user?
*sigh* thats the number I called twice. They said I needed to do it online because the "person who works for sprint" needs to also do something online in order for me to be able to set up a SERO account. They kept asking me how I knew this person..ect. I shall call back!

EDIT: Just called two more times and both said the same thing that must be done online. On the SERO website it says "SERO is an exclusive offer through this website only, not availabale through retail stores or any other sales channel"

wow...must be calling on the wrong night. hehe.
You are with Verizon right? What are you asking the Rep? Don't just tell them about applying for SERO plan. Tell them you are with Verzion and thinking about switching and see what they can offer. After she gives the offer. THEN ask about the SERO. The rep knowing you are with another provider gives them extra incentive to sign you up.
AGEC2008
How long do you want to ignore this user?
haha. I let them know I have Verizon and then play stupid and let them talk and then bring up the SERO plan. "You can set that up online" is the only response I get. This last person told me I can't port in my number that I would have to start from scratch. haha. I guess I have to just take what the offer is online. I was really hoping to get atleast some of my termination fee payed for.
