Is it usually possible to get Sprint to offer to rebate the cancellation fee from another provider?

I think it really depends on who you talk to . When you call customer service/retentions ask and see what they will do. Tell them you are thinking about switching to Sprint but need them to credit you for the cancellation fee. I for one didn't get that but it still didn't stop me. I paid the fee and would do it again in a heartbeat. When you get a free phone after rebate, plus more rebates, coupon codes, and a great deal from the start how do you say no?

Yes even though you aren't a Sprint customer still call retentions. Retentions are the only one that give you the deals. Forget about normal CSR.

Retentions will be the ones to ask for refunds on ETF from other companies. Yes it can be done, I know two people that has done it.

I got the 500 minutes and a maroon treo 755p. No luck with retentions though, just did it through the website. I can't really think of any perks I would really want since unlimited texts was included.

Does anyone know the drop date for the "next big thing" as far as smartphones go? I've been drooling over a mogul for a while now and am wondering if i should start the propaganda campaign with my mom now or wait for something new to come out...

I have read a few things about the new Treo (800?) but not much else. It is supposed to be WM6, WiFi, RevA, etc and be released somtime close to the new year maybe!

Okay, here's the deal I just got:

* I still had 1.5 years to go under my current contract.
* I have been with Sprint for 9+ years.
* I called and told her I was considering cancelling to go to AT&T because of service issues and the iPhone.
* She immediately suggested the Mogul (which is why I was calling). I told her I might have some interest in it, but not for $549.99.
* She offered me $75 off and I told her we weren't even in the ballpark. She offered another $75 to make it $150 and I told her we still weren't close.
* I told her AT&T would pay my fee to break contract and was going to give me $250 off on the phone of my choice.
* She then offered a $100 mail in rebate in addition to the $150 immediate rebate and I told her I wasn't interested in a mail in rebate and that if that was the best she could do, I was going to make the switch to AT&T.
* She hesitated and said that she could go ahead and do the Mogul for $299 and apply it to my bill. I verified that she meant $299 before any mail in rebates and she verified.
* I agreed and we ordered the phone.
* After ordering the phone, I asked about the $100 mail in rebate and she reluctantly said that I still qualified and told me how to apply for it once I received my phone, so I basically got the Mogul for $299 - $100 mail in rebate = $199.


Next we went to the plan. I'm not terribly unsatisfied with my plan which is $59.99 for 900 anytime minutes, free nights and weekends, free Sprint to Sprint, $20 unlimited vision, $7 insurance and $10 unlimited text messaging. I really didn't care to fight for too much because I can expense up to $100/mnth to my corporate AmEx but she offered the following:

* Free unlimited text messages (instead of $10).
* $10 per month credit on Power Vision (making it $10/mnth)
* 100 extra anytime minutes at no-charge.



I'm pretty happy with the results. I think I will like the Mogul. Thanks for all the help devastor. I will try the service credit codes another day.

I have the Mogul and I love it, it is badazz. the only negative so far is the lack of one handed texting but I dont mind it that much, if I am in a situation where I have to one hand it then I probably shouldnt be texting anyway!

How is the voice/audio/reception quality on the Mogul?

I read alot about how people thought it was too quiet and the speakerphone was the suck but I have not had any problems with either, if anything the volume is a little loud at times and I find myself having to turn it down. In fact, all the stuff that people have been complaining about I have not experienced with mine (knock on wood).

the only thing that has happened to mine is the voice dialing button on the side got pushed in and is not functional now. I was bummed/pissed at first but then I got over it since I dont voice dial.

Been with Sprint for 10 years.

Right now I have 4 phones on a friends and family set up.

I want to dump 2 of the phones as they are not used. 15 months left on the contract.

Any wisdom on the cheapest way to do it?

I think the "next big thing" would be cheap smartphones. I know Treo is coming out with a Palm Centro in 4Q of this year for just $99.
Palm Centro Info There is also hype on the Treo 800 which suppose to be out within the next two months.

Deleting the "i." in front of slickdeals makes it work correctly.

I took the i out of the url from the URANG offer and it still opens up to forbidden page. However when you go to the url and press enter it works. I guess something with the forum code.

I get my treo tomorrow. They shipped to my friends houston address because that is where my credit card was going all summer, so I'll be getting it tomorrow. I'll try to make a post on here from the game...I'm pretty excited.

The Mogul is pretty ****ing badass.

I got my treo in, and I can't make calls. I called *2, and the indian guy put me on hold, did something, and said something that I think meant I should be able ot use my phone. The problem is I still can't use it. I guess he programmed it. Does this usually take a while?

Mine took about 10 min. Try one of the numbers on the first page. I think there is a direct number to talk to someone than going through *2.

I just noticed something weird. The phone number on the website is different that the one on the phone. When I call the one of hte website (from my other phone) I get a voicemail thing. When I call the one that came on the box, I get nothing.

I've only been able to get one of the coupon codes to work and that was the very first code. Has anyone else had this problem?

I already have the PPC-6700, must I get a new phone if I use the SERO plan???
