This happens all the time. As mentioned on here before. Call 1-800-477-4127 (Sprint Rebate Center) and ask for a status of your rebate. They will fix it for you immediately! Then ask how long it will take to get the check. They response will be 6 to 8 weeks. Ask them if they can expedite the check. And they will.

I got an email back from Sprint saying the following:

Just got around to finally calling about my rejected rebate and they said I was eligible and that it was a mistake that it was rejected.

$150 sent my way, expedited (15 days)!

*UPDATE*

Just a sweet update..... About a six weeks ago I was out of contract so I told sprint I would agree to another 2 year if they would add nationwide calling to my plan AND give me a Katana DLX for free. Which they did.

Although...... I didn't even know it but I paid about 8 bucks for that phone (I still don't know how but it pissed me off.) But by doing that I'm elgible for the $150 rebate. Sprint actually paid me.

My plan: $45.00/month
1000 anytime minutes
Nationwide calling (Already saved me a couple of hundred buck so far)
Nights at 9 (throwback from 5-6 years ago)
Unlimited Texts
Sprint Vision (Pretty sweet with the Katana)

FREE Katana DLX. (Sweet effing phone. I think it's a lot better then The Motorola Q. Doesn't have the QWERTY but it's 3g and does most of the stuff the Q does.)

In case anyone is trying to decide between the Moto Q and the Mogul:

I went to a Sprint store yesterday to get my numbers transferred. Rep told me that he has had many, many complaints about the Moto Q, yet has had very few about the Mogul.

Just an FYI.

FYI the Q is a piece of *hit. I've had one for about 4 months and it's continually having problems.

Once a software update rendered it useless, and I could not get it to work until I took it to a store. Also, I have to charge it EVERY night. I'm not even an intensive user.

Anyone know any tips on switching phones without breaking the bank?

golferag2003. I love my Q, I constantly check my e-mail and the internet and it lasts 24 hours. Have you try to get sprint exchange the battery? But to each one their own. If you are still within your first 30 days it will make it ALOT easier. In any case do this:
  • Call retentions
  • Tell them you are not happy with your phone and would like to exchange it
  • Tell them you paid retail if they ask and avoid mentioning SERO
  • They will send you the new phone, CHARGE you for the phone and when the receive your old phone will CREDIT you the price of that phone.


Now if you are not within your 30 days. Then you will have to do like a upgrade price. Typically $150 off retail price. Sometimes you can threaten to cancel and they will give you deals for phones. Good luck.

I've sent 3 separate emails to ecare about URANG and all of them have said that Sprint does not offer that and that it should from a 3rd party.

I guess I'm screwed on that one.

Alright, several things has happened last few weeks and I now have the time to update this thread.

YAY TXTS
SERO unlimited text messaging offer extended till 12/31/07!!! SO if you were trying to get on SERO because unlimited txt messaging was going to end in 3 days, Rejoice you got another 4 months to decide. (Just do it already!!)

NEW PERK
That is right. It seems many people have been able to get a "Pick 3 Perk added to their plan. This perk will be competing with T-Mobiles, Fav 5 offer. So you pretty much pick 3 phone numbers, even landlines, (be smart don't pick a Sprint number..haha) and all calls to those phone numbers will be Free. I looks like ecare cannot add this Perk, you have to call directly to Retentions. You also must be on the new system to get this added to your account. If you ordered SERO through the web site you are good. This new Ensemble billing system everyone will be converted to within the next few months.

It will apparently become an option on all Sprint plans within the next 4 months or so. It will be free for those with a plan rate of $40.00 or higher and cost $5.00 a month for those who's plan is under $40.00, or get it free through Retentions!!

$115 SERVICE CREDIT
Some people close to the end of their contracts have been receiving letters from Sprint stating they will give a $115 credit if you sign a 2 year agreement. Well ecare and retentions have been giving this credit to people not even 2 months into their contract!! Some people have gotten the credit and not new contract!! That means $115 for an extra 2 months. Even if you are into a year of your contract, do you really think you are going to cancel your cheap@$$ SERO account? $115 is like 3 months Free!! Anyways if you are going to try to get this credit, I would recommend calling. Apparently ecare has been asking for a scan of the letter. You can download the letter here.. If when you call they ask to read what the letter states. DO NOT send it in to ecare as it doesn't not have your name or account info on it.


KELLOGG'S REBATE ADDRESS PROBLEM
Many people are receiving a Return Stamp for the Kelloggs Rebate if they sent to do the address on the rebate form. This happened to my sister. For whatever reason Sprint changed the address and conveniently didn't tell anyone. Anyways, here is a way I got my sister's Kellogg's Rebate validated and also gonna get the $75 (or more) to her a lot quicker!!

Dial 1-800-477-4127 Sprint Rebate Center and ask for the status for your rebates. They will most likely give the status of the Sprint one. After you hear the status and everything is ok with that one. Tell them that you also have another rebate, the Kellogg's Rebate and you would like to know the status of that one as well. Of course the CSR will not find it, tell them you have copies of all your rebates and ask if you can just fax them your copy, if they don't ask you to do so after they can't find it. Once they give you the fax number, ask them how long it will take to process and for you to receive the check. They will give you the standard answer of 6 to 8 weeks. Nicely say, "Wow that is a long time, is there anyway to expedite the process?" Immediately they will say, I have expedited your rebate you will receive the check in 15 days.
Its that easy!

Wow that is all great news for me. Both my wife and I's sprint contract are over in late december and we want to resign up under the SERO plan with nice new phones. Sounds like they are now much more open to letting existing customers do this

And for anybody with Treos, buy.com has 4gb sdhc cards for 20 bucks if you buy through google checkout. Thats a pretty good steal.

If you want Palm OS get the 755. If you want Windows Mobile OS, get the Mogul.

Total WORD to 1876er about the 4 GB card. Its actually $30 but $20 if you sign up with google checkout.

Our Sprint phones have both died this week (batteries won't hold a charge) so I need two phones ASAP. We are also about to switch to a new plan and get off a family plan.

My question is whether I can just go buy a couple of phones at a retail store (or online if that's cheaper but still fast) and hopefully get a good deal on them or if I should/have to wait until we get our new plan (hopefully SERO plan) before we get new phones. In other words, do the deals usually go hand in hand?

If we have two phones, I know we can't use SERO unless we buy separate SERO accounts (did I get that right?). So, is there a better family plan that would save us money over two SERO plans? Two two separate SERO plans cost $30 each for 500 minutes, the family plan for 700 minutes is $69.99. Are the fees and taxes significant enough that it's cheaper to get the $69.99 family plan instead of the two $30 plans? Why wouldn't I just get two SERO plans, in other words?

Lastly, I was only going to go into the store to find out about the phones. Maybe you could save me some time, though. We just want a flip camera phone, no other perks really needed. What do you suggest? We want a reliable phone, but don't need to download music, pics, or whatever else you can do with phones these days.

Where do you see this? Everything I have read just mentions being able to view office documents. I don't see anything about being able to edit.

Alright I was looking at the 500 thinking it was the same as the Centro, but now I see I was very wrong. The Centro actually has Palm OS and is touchscreen. I still don't see anything about editing Office documents though.

FYI, the Centro is now officially availible through Sprint and appears on the SERO site as well. Only the black version for now, with the Red to come out on 11/4.

I plan on swinging by a B&M Sprint store this week to play around with one.

I just got off the phone with Sprint and told them another provider was throwing the kitchen sink to get me to be their customer. I think I got a great deal from them. My new plan includes:

- 1000 anytime minutes ($40.00)
- Nights and Weekends (free)
- unlimited texts ($8)
- unlimited vision ($5)

Just wanted to bump the thread and say that I went to a Sprint store and played around with the Centro a little bit. Like the reviews say the keys are pretty small. However, it didn't take that long to get used to and be able to type with minimal or no mistakes. I am nt very familiar witih Palm or any PDAs but the interface was fast and easy to use.

My contract is up in 2 months and I am a loyal 4-5 year customer who has never upgraded my phone, so I plan on calling this week and seeing if I can take advantage of their $100 credit to extend and extend under the SERO plan and get the Centro for $99. Hopefully they will play nice. The only thing they really have to offer me is the ability to keep my number (which isn't that big a deal to me). If they say no I will just wait until next month, then sign up for a new line under SERO to get everything I want and just have two lines for 1 month until my current line expires.

I'll let you all know how it goes.

My wife says the Centro's buttons are too small for her. If she is just looking to surf the web, send text messages, and talk on the phone, is the Treo 755 overkill?

i.e.-no business emails she needs to be checking.

What is the best phone to use for web surfing?
