My plan expires in a month, do I have to wait until then and get on SERO? Can I do it now? Also, must I buy a new phone?

wellVersed

call Retentions and tell them you are with a competitor and want to move to Sprint but you the only thing holding you back is the ETF. then take it from there.

DAM
dude, START NOW. call Retentions or ecare and threaten to go with another company unless you get SERO plan.

devastor,

any tips for getting the price of the touch down from the $249 that it shows on the sero website. Im gonna jump on this sero plan before the 10th so I gotta make my mind up soon.

Also, can I start a sero plan with a phone that I currently have?, then try to get the treo800w when it comes out without having to update my old sero plan to the new sero plan?

Its just that none of the phones out there seem that great, but I the touch looks interesting...Im thinking of getting the sero plan now, then upgrading the phone (and being eligible for the rebates) later.

TIA!

I ordered a black Centro, but they sent me pink instead!

Other than that, everything is great.

Thanks for all the help, Dev.

The one piece of advice I've heard is to make sure you have a "power vision" phone and not just "vision" since they might not be willing/able to change you over after SERO expires. I can't verify this though...

What's the difference between power vision and vision? I'm considering the samsung ace if i can get them to cover my ETF from ATT.

You'll probably want a new phone in two years. Buy for the next two years, not for after.

p.s. My friend has an ACE, its really cool.

Eugene4X, SlimM. I'm glad you are on the SERO plan now. Enjoy it. Also if you would like $25 off, e-mail me at rsoto04 @ gmail.com

aggiebass03 - vision is regular internet speed (dial-up) Power vision is EVDO or high-speed internet. All Sprint phones are power vision phones.

I finally pulled the trigger before it is too late. Got me a Centro and the wife an M520. Just have to work on getting the numbers ported over from our current (out of contract) Sprint plan, which the nice lady on the Sprint retentions line said shouldn't be a problem.

Just curious, but what other rebates (other than the standard mail in rebates that come with the phones) are we eligible for? I've read through parts of this thread but am still somewhat confused.

The only rebates are the ones posted on the first page, which is the Sprint ones. But recently sprint as been sending out rebates for more than what they should be. A buddy got a Motorola Q pay $129 for it. Got a $300 rebate in the mail last week!!

You can e-mail them about the 50BACK coupon code for $50 credit added to your account. Its a hit 0r miss on that one.

so, I just called and they said the only way to get on SERO is to open a brand new account with a new number... not acceptable. Any ideas? My bill for the last three months has been over $500, sucks that they couldn't me offer anything other than the everything plan.

so is the sero plan not going away? It's still there as of the 11th....maybe they're planning on waiting until the 13th when the instinct is rumored to get sero pricing

SERO IS OFFICIALLY DEAD!!!
GO TO http://sprint.com/sero TO SEE IT HAS NOW BEEN CHANGE TO EVERYTHING PLUS.

To get in you need an Sprint employee's e-mail address and the last 3 digits of employee ID.

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE THAT WAS ABLE TO GET IN BEFOREHAND!!

Sero is dead, long live Everything Plus.

Thanks for helping us with this awesome deal, devastor!

Won't be long before that info is getting out so people can jump on this.

I wonder if when we want to upgrade phones if we can get new phones but keep our plan continuing forward.

McInnis, the guy I talked to yesterday at a store and the two people I talked to at Customer Service stated that I could make changes to my plan and still not switch. I am thinking of getting a Blackberry for which I would have to add the Blackberry service. Customer Service said I could do that and still keep my existing SERO plan intact. Who knows what I will be told today thought!

Thanks for the info dev - we pulled the trigger on 2 lines and got the mogul and m520. There should be an email from me in your inbox.

McNasty welcome to the grandfathered in SERO plan :-). I got your e-mail and replied back.

For anyone who jumped on SERO in the last 30 days and is unhappy with their phone, you might consider trading for the Samsung M520. It's $50 after rebates, but it has a large screen and installing the Opera Mini browser lets you view full web pages in landscape mode (turning the phone sideways). I initially ordered the V3M RAZR, but returned it to the store for the Samsung and have been very happy.

Devastor,

Are people still able to get perks like early upgrades, etc?

It's been about 2 years since my family and I signed up for the Sero plan. Our plan is up, so we can re-sign with Sprint or go with a different company.

Sprint definitely has the cheapest plan, but I was looking at the phones they offer and I don't really like any of them. I would probably go with the Blackberry Curve 8330 ($99) if I had to pick. The phone I have now is a Treo 700wx. I really like Windows mobile and the touch screen.

Also looking at Cingular. I can get a refurbed Iphone 3g for $99.

Anyone have any comments/experiences with the Blackberry 8330 or any of the other PDA phones Sprint has? My budget is $200.

Turg,

Remember, if you had a non-blackberry on SERO and you goto a BB now, you're most likely going to have to pony up $20 more per month to get the blackberry services plan if they will even offer you that option.

You have the option of getting a new phone at a discount and then extending your SERO for 2 years. Just call them up and state you're wanting to upgrade phones, but only if you can lock in 2 more years on your current plan. Everyone has been pretty successful with this routine and I plan on doing the same soon.

I'm thinking Treo PRO is going to be the way I want to go.

I have found a login for Sprint Employee plans now, and they're more expensive than SERO used to be, but they include blackberry plans now so you can go that route if you want.

Dude, the Treo Pro is for you then, it's just a newer model of Treo, higher res screen, faster processor, and supposedly it runs Windows like a champ. Plus you can stay on your $30 SERO plan
devastor

AggieBQ95, of course they are :-)

I got the Treo Pro for my sis for $99 a few weeks ago, plus a $5 monthly credit. BTW Treo Pro is a great phone!

I'm still waiting for the Palm Pre before I make my decision on my next phone.

So my contract is up in the near future, and I am a bit tired of my HTC Touch and its quirkyness.

I want something that works with my exchange server, prefer a bigger screen and must have a qwerty keyboard.

What would sprint do for me to keep me from getting an iPhone?

No it isnt.... any "everything" plan is what is required. the cheapest is $69.99 (still much cheaper than the cheapest iphone plan if you add txt messaging which is included with the everything plans).
