CJ is good enough. Wouldn't want to pay him. 50 million a year, but keep him for something reasonable and don't start over with a top 5 pick who will probably be a bust.

If the season goes completely sideways maybe that top 5 pick can get you a bunch of 2nd rounders to spend on OL

I'm calling you out b/c you are acting as if this year's CJ is last year's playoff CJ.

He was downright excellent today. You want to flip out b/c he threw deep on an offsides penalty late in the game? He may not have even known the flag was thrown. Even if he did, is it crazy to take a deep shot? You are hoping for a miracle or fortunate pass interference call at that point.

I was done with CJ after last year, but I try to be fair. He has been an honest positive this year. It's our defense, running game, OL, and kicking game (except FG) that has doomed us.

You do realize the Dallas D is horrible, right?

As I said in previous CJ debates on here. Let the season play out. I think it will be very clear by the end of the season. We have road games outside late in the season. These are typically CJ kryptonite.

Generally when a defense is holding a team back like this you talk about what player additions are needed. But then you realize they returned 10/11 starters from last year and the one non returner was supposedly an upgrade. Going from so dominant last year every week to this with the same personnel has to lead to coaching questions. And yes I know Azeez didn't play today and that is a big deal

With regard to the OL we've been operating as if Stroud was on his second contract from the moment we ditched Tunsil.

We have the 29th most expensive OL, and pay all 10 of them in aggregate less than what the best players command alone while we are still on Cj's rookie deal.

He has no run game, poor pass protection, and, when Nico is out, basically no receivers who would see the field on any decent team. And when he took the lead in 3 of the 4 games with about a minute left, the D couldn't hold the lead in any of them. He's the least of our problems.

It'll be impossible for the Texans to get a top pick unless they purposely tank. They aren't going to do that.

They need to fire Caserio and Demeco.

It was a fine hire and a good try, but he's not an NFL head coach.

I don't know if Caley makes it out of October employed. Sure, the offense was good overall today but the playcalling of running your back into a blob of people straight up the middle is getting old. CJ and Nico are the only bright spots on the entire offense.

CJ isn't the problem. He's put up 30 points twice with very little support and the Texans have lost both games at home.

You score 31 on the Bills and 30 on crap-ass Dallas and you should be 2-0. I bagged on CJ relentlessly since the playoffs last year, but he was very good today. They didn't address their OL issues, they have 1 good WR and that's it, and the defense gave up 28 points in the 2nd half.

Yeah, I think most of this first pick nonsense is for laughs because they must be underestimating how bad the Dolphins are. They haven't scored more than 13 points in a game all year.

I'm not as dialed in on college prospects this year. Is there a Bruce Matthews in the draft this year? I feel like it's the year of the skill position. Smith and Baugh are the 2 best players in the draft this year in my opinion.

The defense was lazy during the off-season. Stroud put in the work since he was blamed for last year.
