Looks like the conservatives are doing us proud here. I am one of the biggest Trump/MAGA guys on here, but he needs to shut TF up here.

THere is nothing wrong with what they are rebelling about, the scam must not be set in motion at all and be fully repealed PERIOD. And Medicaid needs work PERIOD

So Trump needs to stay out of it or take the "right side", get to Washington and hold a meeting with them instead blabbering. Rant over

There are too many competing interests. These fiscal hawks may get what they want, but then the blue state republicans will boycott and ask for a bigger SALT cap, then other republicans will come along and sink it for taking away the green subsidies.

The majority is too small to be effective

Yeah, this is the only thing I can think about with Trumps point of view. So many different voting blocks to represent, have to make concessions.

But the green scam is just a non starter, repeal the entire Fing thing, give them the start date on Medicaid

I agree with chip on almost everything that I'm aware of, but he needs to be careful about not letting the great get in the way of the good.

Everything we have on the table right now is Miles better than where we are.

We can get this bill passed, and introduce other bills to take care of certain items down the road.

I've always believed when negotiating anything, if you can get 90% of what you want, you close on the deal right there. You are never going to get 100% of what you want if there are more than two people negotiating.

Some of these guys just don't seem to understand that concept.

Probably would, with 40% supporting cutting spending, 40% supporting increased revenues, and 40% whose math doesn't work.

I support balancing the budget as well. Chip should run for POTUS on that platform.

Right now he is but one of nearly 500 people elected to Congress. And he's acting the part of a radical judge slinging out nationwide injunctions.

30T in debt was only caused by compromise if one of the parties didn't want to spend like drunken sailors.

So in this case, our debt is a result of not compromising at all.

30T in debt was only caused by compromise if one of the parties didn't want to spend like drunken sailors.

So in this case, our debt is a result of not compromising at all.

Rs were calling for Trumps head when the stock market hiccupped over tariffs, but a multi-month government shutdown, massive cuts to entitlements, and raising taxes is going to solve everything and result in Rs retaining power as the economy and stock market is in total shambles because nothing in Washington happens and Trump rules only by EOs that are continually shut down by the few Rs who want to die on no compromise?

Last year when the Rs passed the CR twice, all the "conservatives" told us to be strategic. Don't hold out for spending cuts. Get in line so we can win the election. Wait for reconciliation next year to get the spending cuts. We'll get cuts then.

Now we hear the same. Be strategic. Don't sacrifice good on the alter of perfect. Get in line. Ad nauseum.

Im beginning to think most conservative posters on this board are either paid liberals or AI bots.

We will run $2 trillion deficits until it all collapses. And it will collapse. Interest on the debt this FY will be more than $1 trillion.

Did y'all read the article? This typical Republican clownery here is why Chip Roy is opposing it. SOP to give everything the Democrats want and then the Republicans only get what they want later...which is never.

Trump won't be in office in 2029. We could have Democrats running things then which is frankly likely.

Thus, we aren't cutting spending at all even though they say we will do it later. lol. Never happen.
