Anyway I thought it was weird at the time how GW Bush gave full authority for the expedited return of many Saudi and other Middle Easterners almost immediately. They said it was because of possible fear of retaliation against them. Yet nobody even knew the full extent of anything at the time. Meanwhile our president allows many just to return leaving our country.

But that isn't to say that a) the government didn't fail miserably in the events that led up to 9/11 and b) that the 9/11 Commission, or whatever it was called, wasn't a whitewash (or didn't have some elements of it) to protect those who's reputations would have been ruined by exposing the failures in a). You can also argue, with a little less persuasion, that the commission was used as a pretext for war, but I don't think a pretext was needed. We WERE attacked, after all.

I guess WTC 7 was needed just in case the populace didn't grasp the enormity of the WTC 1 and 2 craters so I guess they wired it to blow it up and really ram it home to make sure we could invade Iraq. Then I guess they forgot to hit the button for a long time.
And the mechanical section was close to the core support structures. It was an emergency command center, with generators and who knows how many gallons of diesel to run them, located there. So there was another fuel fire that increases temps. That building was a weird design because the groundand secondfloor - or what would have been - had to be built over an existing power generation station. Very abnormal structual design, the building being tapezoidal shape added an additional dimension.
Steel is very strong...but starts to deflect at surprisingly low temps, loses its flexural strength earlier than you think.

That day, they could not. And the damage to the foundation after the Towers fell? So hard to really understand with the water tables from the Hudson.

Look, I'm not a believer in these 9/11 conspiracies. What we've learned over the past two years is that you don't have to keep people quiet. You have to keep enough of the population believing that those people are conspiracy theorists. Most people don't actually examine the information they are presented. They don't apply logic and reason to the full body of the text. Headlines are good enough. People who question facts are often shouted down, as they have by some within this very thread. For the record, I do think it's possible for 9/11 to have been a terrorist attack and also have our government lie to us about the details uncovered within the investigation. There may even be a good reason for them to have done so.

I'm merely saying the totality of all the events don't add up to me. We can dissect each individual occurrence from that day but the fact is ALL of these events happened on the same day with precision. The undertaking of all of those events is daunting when you think about it.
