His symptoms are mostly respiratory, very different from mine.
Could this mean it might be a different strain?

So I don't want to alarm anyone but my partner has developed symptoms over the past few days. We don't understand how he developed symptoms so far after mine. I've been better a week and about three days ago he started developing serious chest congestion.
He is ok for the most part, just concerned but still not hospital worthy. Feels like his chest is very tight.
His symptoms are mostly respiratory, very different from mine.

My partner woke up this morning and breathing has gotten painful. We are going to cedars Sinai in LA right now.
I will keep you updated. This is mostly a precaution but I don't want to take any chances. Apparently when this gets bad it happens really fast.

Are you a doctor? My understanding is that this is far from the first virus that can cause lasting lung damage.
I had some mystery virus almost two years ago with fevers for about a week, and my breathing still isn't perfect. Wheezing was noticeable enough months later that I sought medical help - they gave me antobiotics that didn't noticeably improve things. It's better now but still clearly not back to full fitness.
I don't know if the damage is permanent or just long-lasting.

His resting heart rate is around 140. They are concerned about that. He had an X-ray, CT, and blood test and we are waiting to hear results.
I'm not allowed to be there but will disseminate whenever I can.
I'm very concerned.

Do they not know you are one of the recovered?BallerStaf2003 said:

Today would be the day to do it!Proposition Joe said:Dad-O-Lot said:I put some vanilla on a paper towel in a jar.L08 said:
Guess more and more are mentioning the loss of taste and smell. With the frequency it has come up, should definitely be one of those questions to ask or add to questionnaires to catch people earlier on.

Everyone in the house has to check every day if they can smell it. So far, no changes.
That's just begging for the ultimate Dad joke of switching it to something without a smell one morning.
Wow, prayers for you both.BallerStaf2003 said:
