It was absolutely the correct call. Stupid on the baserunner. Karma for going with spikes up high on the fielder's leg/knee area and not going anywhere near the base.

I wouldn't have been shocked to see that called an illegal slide in the mlb too.

Not sure if the enforcement would be the same, but he definitely deviated and initiated contact with the defenders leg.

On the replay he had a foot on the base. It did not affect the throw at all to 1st. He did not interfere with the throw. There was an out recorded. Let the game play out. In no way did that interfere with the play at home. In no way did it interfere with play at 1st. Hard slide, but nothing dirty.

That doesn't mean the proper call was not made in THIS situation! Can't believe you're trying to justify the play, and disapprove of the call. How'd you feel if that was your son playing SS there? That's how it must be considered imo.

I have no clue what play you watched, but he went straight at the player and never even touched the bag.
