Runner went out of direct slide to the bag and attacked the SS.

He made the out and touched the base. How is that interference?
You have to slide directly into the base in college. It was the right call.Bondag said:

Why? It's a wonder they were able to complete the DP. It was absolutely the proper call!mwm said:
Wow. What a call in that situation.

Stupid base runner. He should be ejected for going for the leg.
Also, **** LsU. Trash fans starting to throw stuff on the field
His foot hit the base. That was a hard slide, but not textbook. Where was camera showing runner from 3rd vs. play. If he had crossed home that would have counted.schmellba99 said:Bondag said:

Because the runner never attempted to,slide at the base. He was a good 2 feet off the line. Not a hard call to,make.

I wouldn't have been shocked to see that called an illegal slide in the mlb too.
Not sure if the enforcement would be the same, but he definitely deviated and initiated contact with the defenders leg.

Have seen much worse slides not called and those were not in an elimination game for World Series.
On the replay he had a foot on the base. It did not affect the throw at all to 1st. He did not interfere with the throw. There was an out recorded. Let the game play out. In no way did that interfere with the play at home. In no way did it interfere with play at 1st. Hard slide, but nothing dirty.sellthefarm said:Bondag said:His foot hit the base. No way. The lead foot hit the fielder in the middle of the shin about 3 ft towards right field. Watch it again.

Spikes up slide was 100% dirty irrespective of interference.Bondag said:On the replay he had a foot on the base. It did not affect the throw at all to 1st. He did not interfere with the throw. That doesn't mean the proper call was not made in THIS situation! Can't believe you're trying to justify the play, and disapprove of the call. How'd you feel if that was your son playing SS there? That's how it must be considered imo.Quote:
