I once ran the bases in shin guards.

2 outs, up by a ton and we were trying to beat a rain event to get a recordable game.

Pitcher was soft tossing in the dugout to stay warm so we could forego the pre-inning warmup.

I'm sure the pitcher wasn't thinking "I've got to be sure and cover home if I throw a wild pitch with a runner on first", but at some point with the runner circling the bases you'd think he might've figured out where the guy was headed.
