This is no doubt one of the best threads ever!

Texas A&M in the SEC alone will lockdown recruiting East of I-45. That will kill the texas program.

CenTx - It isn't want. They are scared.
Scared of the SEC West? Do you realize that if Texas joined they would be favored to win that division from the start? That it would have two SWC teams in it that Texas has whipped for 100 years joining forces with freakin Ole Miss and Miss St.? And then LSU, who would be easier on an annual basis that OU? Why would Texas be scared of that?
Please go to the SEC. The Pac-16 would take Kansas instead. At least they have been successful in something and they'll be adding an unquestioned basketball elite that's had more recent footballs success than A&M. All the SEC will be adding is middle-of-the-road depth - a program that regularly goes to lower-tier bowls, makes it to the first weekend of March Madness and has won two games ever in Omaha. Who gives a crap.

I do agree that a move to the SEC "could" really help elevate A&M recruiting, but most see this a set in stone...
I can also see the very negative effect that could happen to A&M. They get shut out of Texas.
If A&M goes to the SEC on their own, and Baylor takes their place, they could actually have less presence in Texas than they do now. The game in Dallas long term would be in jeopardy. Ark fans will want a home and home series if both teams are in the same conf. So if TX, Tech and Baylor all stop playing A&M in OOC (not much room) and these schools as well as OK and OK St. will fill their OOC schedule with the remaining schools (Utep, UH, rice, TCU, SMU etc.) then their be a drop in recruiting. The aggies could be completely shut out from the state of Texas except for their home games.
This is just as possible as A&M magically recruiting better because they play in the SEC where the TX kids only games in TX will be home games. This is a possibility

Aggies: please join the SEC. Without us.
That gives us all we will need to force the Pac 10 to allow us to start The Longhorn Network.

You have no choice. You will join us in the SEC or we will go alone. Doing so will kill your football program, and you know it.
We are your Daddy, and you will do as we command. Get in the SEC with us or perish, beyotches.

Going back through this thread is all you need to know that TUlane Jr. ran away from Texas A&M.99 Luftballoons Ag said:
Who cares what I do for a living. I pump gas for all you know.
If t.u. is in control, why not just go without A&M? Why all the threats to never play us again, etc.?
You know the SEC in Texas ONLY hurts t.u. (and to some extent OU). Why would you threaten to blackball if t.u. ain't skeer't?
