Box Score
Coming in hot off of a run-rule victory for No. 6 Texas A&M, the Aggies pulled together a 3-0 win against No. 22 Auburn Tigers to sweep the series.
In the first inning, Auburn pitcher Chalea Clemmons walked three, loading the bases in the first few minutes of the game. Mac Barbara’s two-strike single brought home Kennedy Powell and Koko Wooley for an aggressive start.
With the Ags up 2-0 and runners on second and third, Clemmons was relieved from the circle by senior Icess Tresvik, who extinguished the fire of the Ags bats, ending the first inning.

After an error by Powell, Auburn occupied second and third base. Emiley Kennedy struggled to get her pitches past the Tigers' barrels, but the defense was able to fight for the final out in the first.
Kennedy’s one hit given up in the first was the only one all day.
In the third, Powell had a base hit through the right side, and Mya Perez reached on fielder’s choice. Amari Harper walked, but Barbara struck out swinging to keep the score locked at 2-0.
SJ Geurin relieved Tresvik in the circle in her second appearance against the Aggies this weekend. After a nailbiting five innings against the Ags in game one of the series, Geurin came into a really big inning for Auburn with successful attempts to hold back the barrels.
In the bottom of the fourth, A&M’s defense held them off with two ground outs and the first strikeout of the game for Kennedy.
Powell took a base after being hit with a pitch, followed by a strong single by Harper to the right field wall. Harper advanced to second on the throw, with Powell aggressively gunning for home. After review it was a close call, Powell was called out at the plate.
The Ags continued to maintain their two-run lead just inches away from the final inning and a win. But the game wasn’t over yet, leaving Auburn two more at-bats to clench the lead.
In the top of the seventh, with two runners on, junior Kylei Griffin singled to center field and pinch-runner Hailey Golden scored, bringing the Aggies to a 3-0 lead to close out their final at-bat.
Kennedy struck out the side to close down the ballgame.
For the first time since 2017, this is the first series sweep for the Maroon & White at Auburn. If the series going 3-for-3 wasn’t enough to celebrate, this game was Trisha Ford’s 500th career win. An impressive feat for an impressive coach.
A&M is looking ahead to next weekend when they will return to Davis Diamond to compete in the three-game series against Alabama, starting with game one on Friday, March 21, at 6 p.m. CT.
