You've been pretty vocal and straight up angry on a lot of threads about this separation thing. You're not our Daddy and you know it.....in fact, it's quite the opposite.

The SEC knows Texas isn't interested, that's why they're trying to court "junior" to the dance in hopes of also attracting oklahoma or because they hope they can scare Texas into reconsidering the SEC. At the end of the day, we all know it's not the aggies the SEC, the Big 10, the Pac 10, or even the Mountain West wants, it's Texas. We can name our conference if we wanted and everyone would have to scramble their agendas around us. Sorry, you're absolutely wrong and all the venom you're spewing isn't going to change a thing.

The ONLY REASON the SEC has interest in the aggies is for the benefit of the rest of the schools ability to recruit in Texas. The funny part is that the aggies are the only ones that don't realize what's really happening. You guys actually believe that they're interested in you because "you're such a powerhouse and your program is going to bring so much to the table." LMAO!!! Let's be real, they need a few more conference doormats to help the big dogs in that conference get to better bowls and what better school to pick that the mighty fightin Texas aggies.

I think you and the rest of your aggie brothers know this is true and that's why your posts come across so hostile and full of jealousy. I don't blame you though, the aggies have been the red headed stepchildren of the Big 12 and you think you're more powerful than you really are. It's okay......we understand.

We should be getting word within a few hours that the only remaining commit in the tu class that has an offer from us is flipping to Texas A&M.

Does tu have any recruits with an SEC offer?

512 - No, his argument is that the SEC has CBS/ABC/ESPN on contractual lockdown. If A&M goes SEC, texas will not be on CBS or ESPN at all, all season, and on ABC maybe twice. The rest of their games will be on FSN unless NBC or Fox broadcast comes off the sidelines.

That is the deathnail for the texas program.

Texas will be shut out of recruiting East of I-45. Whether all those kids end up at A&M is an unknown. We just know they won't be heading to Austin. That will destroy the texas program.

The SEC will be on CBS/ABC/ESPN from 11:00 am until 11:00 pm in East Texas.

What will happen is texas will be harder to find on television than reruns of Happy Days.

512 - you are a dumbass. The Pac 10 has already stated there will be no individual networks.

highwayman - why is my post "Wow" worthy? Does texas think it has the magical power to nullify a contractual relationship the SEC has with CBS/ESPN/ABC valued at over $200 Million? Are you that fuggin arrogant?

Let me bold this for you....If A&M goes SEC, the ESPN/CBS/ABC affiliates in the Dallas and Houston TV markets will be required, by a contractual relationship already in existence, to show SEC football from 11:00 am cst until 11:00 pm cst. Where the fook is texas going to be on television? Fox Sports Net, that's where. Unless Fox broadcast and NBC broadcast decide to invest tens of millions of dollars in creating college football coverage from scrap. By the way, NBC sports projects to lose $200 Million in fiscal 2010, so I don't think GE is making that plunge.

Game, set, match. A&M to the SEC will destroy texas football's current situation.

Might want to check with the ACC, Big East, and Big 10 who have existing long term contracts signed with ABC before you state that as fact. ABC is contractually obligated to air a certain number of national and regional coverage games of all three conferences for the next decade. ABC will gladly give the Pac 16 a slice of the pie, but there isn't a whole pie to give.

NBC won't do it because the Pac 16 brass in LA will want nighttime games, and NBC isn't about to push Saturday Night Live back three hours.

Fox broadcast is your only real choice in the near term for big time promotion.

HA! Someone tell Disney they are about to write a check to the SEC for over $1 Billion to break their contract.

ABC/ESPN is contractually obligated to air football games for the Big 10, the ACC, the Big East, and the SEC. Hundreds of games. Sure they aired a 2:30 regional game for the Pac 10 and the Big 12, but it rarely aired East of the Texas State line. They nearly always shared it with the ACC, Big East, Big 10. Whatever new deal the Pac 16 signs could be with ABC/ESPN, but you will be sharing time with their existing contracts.

Jeebus, do we have to go through this again?

Network TV brass don't give a crap who is good when they negotiate the actual contracts. They care when the schedule the games, but when they negotiate contracts, it is simply about what markets the product is in. How many potential viewers are there.

If A&M goes to the SEC, they join a conference with existing contracts in place with ABC/ESPN/CBS. The network affiliates in Houston and Dallas will become a part of the SEC viewing area because the ABC/ESPN/CBS brass in New York will dictate the terms to the affiliates.

Texas and OU can't simply get on TV wherever they want because of who they are, there are legally negotiated contracts that must provide the opportunity for the game to be aired.

The SEC will take its existing deal, exercise its right to renegotiate when it adds A&M to up the amount of money. The networks will oblige with more money and in return they will air the games in expanded markets, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.

It doesn't matter if A&M is good or not, all that matteers is if they are in the SEC. If they join the SEC, texas' options to get on television will be severely limited due to the power of the SEC and its media contracts.

The Pac 16 will get a monster contract somewhere, but it won't be at ABC/ESPN/CBS. All three are in the first few years of major deals with the Big 10, ACC, SEC, Big East and have in excess of $5 Billion comitted long term.

The Pac 16 will be on FSN, Fox, and NBC. Good luck.

Scared of the SEC West? Do you realize that if Texas joined they would be favored to win that division from the start? That it would have two SWC teams in it that Texas has whipped for 100 years joining forces with freakin Ole Miss and Miss St.? And then LSU, who would be easier on an annual basis that OU? Why would Texas be scared of that?

Please go to the SEC. The Pac-16 would take Kansas instead. At least they have been successful in something and they'll be adding an unquestioned basketball elite that's had more recent footballs success than A&M. All the SEC will be adding is middle-of-the-road depth - a program that regularly goes to lower-tier bowls, makes it to the first weekend of March Madness and has won two games ever in Omaha. Who gives a crap.

First, what is JTaylor's actual name. Second, how can we find out which games he's officiated? I looked up the Box Score for their Iowa St. game last year and the officials are not listed on that or the game's play-by-play. I want to know if this d-bag had anything to do with the 2 games t.u. won the last 2 years by shoddy officiating. Also, I want to be aware of what games they've got in the future he's doing. Is this the dude that called Trent Hunter for helmet to helmet on that sip WR on their final drive?

Don't forget that if the Pac 10 truly stands firm on the their "no individual networks" rule, and a decent TV deal (and by "decent" I mean "bigger than the SECs) can't be worked out, then we can always join the Big 10, who have made very clear that they are VERY cool with individual networks.
