That it would have two SWC teams in it that Texas has whipped for 100 years joining forces with freakin Ole Miss and Miss St.? And then LSU, who would be easier on an annual basis that OU? Please go to the SEC. The Pac-16 would take Kansas instead. At least they have been successful in something and they'll be adding an unquestioned basketball elite that's had more recent footballs success than A&M. All the SEC will be adding is middle-of-the-road depth - a program that regularly goes to lower-tier bowls, makes it to the first weekend of March Madness and has won two games ever in Omaha. Who gives a crap.

I can also see the very negative effect that could happen to A&M. They get shut out of Texas.

If A&M goes to the SEC on their own, and Baylor takes their place, they could actually have less presence in Texas than they do now. The game in Dallas long term would be in jeopardy. Ark fans will want a home and home series if both teams are in the same conf. So if TX, Tech and Baylor all stop playing A&M in OOC (not much room) and these schools as well as OK and OK St. will fill their OOC schedule with the remaining schools (Utep, UH, rice, TCU, SMU etc.) then their be a drop in recruiting. The aggies could be completely shut out from the state of Texas except for their home games.

This is just as possible as A&M magically recruiting better because they play in the SEC where the TX kids only games in TX will be home games. This is a possibility

Going back through this thread is all you need to know that TUlane Jr. ran away from Texas A&M.

My guess is Texas wants no part of A&M in the same pod. They'll accept their position as second-fiddle to Oklahoma. But to take yearly beatings from A&M as well would put them in an even worse position.

This is money/market move, much like the Big 10 with Rutgers and Maryland.

As such, Texas will serve this conference in much the same fashion Rutgers and Maryland serve the B1G.

Horn fans bragging about winning the big 12 ? Really

When you don't win the SEC you can still make the playoffs and finish in the top 5.

Sips about to get a major wake up call when they finally play in a real conference.

Really. And 10 years ago to boot. Funny how they talk **** about "playing for" a conference championship and not actually winning one in a conference so weak they're leaving it for ours.
