Not saying it will happen, I have literally zero sources, but adding Westbrook to this roster doesn’t mean he is here for the long haul or that he takes touches from young guys in the short term.

It would be pretty satisfying to take the Lakers last remaining 1st round picks for the decade.

Wife had surgery today, so I had to watch the game on my phone, but here's some quick observations I had on our young guys.

Primo
-shot the ball really well. 20 points, 5-7 from 3 and did it off the catch and off the dribble
-5 assists and should have had several more if guys make shots. He's really good reading second and third level defenders coming off the pick and roll, and his size and length allows him to make some tough passes over the top.
-3 turnovers that I felt shouldn't have happened. The cavs would blitz him up high and he panicked a few times and tried to sling passes out of it. It's the youth showing there.
-defensively he could be a lot better. Didn't navigate screens very well and just wasn't as active on that end as I would like. He's too long to not get more deflections/steals and he finished with 0 rebounds. He's got to be more aggressive on the boards.
-he was too passive for most of the game. He's clearly a very smart and unselfish player, but there was a stretch in the 3rd/early 4th where we needed someone to just get a bucket and he didn't really assert himself till late in the 4th. Now when he did, he rattled off 8 straight points and looked really good. I want more of that and less deferring to others.

Blake Wesley
-unbelievable first half and a very solid game overall. 20 points and 3-4 from 3, 5 assists, a couple rebounds
-he reminds me a lot of Dejounte. Built very similar, has that weird sneaky ability to just slither past the defense, can get to the rim pretty much whenever he wants. He's gotta put on some muscle and learn to absorb contact around the rim better, but still had some really nice finishes at the rim.
-5 assists was solid. He doesn't have the natural court vision that Primo does, but he made some nice reads and passes out there. 3 turnovers that I once again felt were due to his youth against Cleveland's trap in the half court.
-he's got potential to be a very good defender with how quick and active he is. However, he's gotta get out of the college mindset where you can go under most screens and get away with it. He got hung up too many times and let shooters get good looks.

Malaki Branham
-Had rough game. He got it going late to finish with 15 points and 2-6 from 3, but he looked like maybe he was pressing and the shot just wasn't falling for most of the game.
-his jumper is super quick and he doesn't need very much time to get it off. Also showed that he has the ability to hit some tough shots, making a couple fade away mid ranges. He had a pump fake, one dribble pull up that was super smooth. I'm confident he'll shoot better going forward.
-didn't show much as far as creating with the ball in his hands.
-defensively he was terrible. Consistently got lost in the half court on switches, there were a couple translation possessions where he should have stopped the ball and went scrambling out to a guy on the perimeter, he jumped at pump fakes, and just takes bad angles when moving his feet. A lot of this can be fixed with coaching and watching film, but he doesn't appear have a very natural feel for defense.

Dominick Barlow
-looked kinda timid for much of the game. Once again, youth and inexperience, but just seemed like he had a difficult time figuring out exactly where he fit in. Did show some nice stuff late. 9 points and 7 boards overall.
-he competes on the boards and came up with some rebounds solely off of hustle.
-his jumper looks pretty good. Knocked down a mid range jumper and hit a couple free throws. I think with some time he could extend his range out.
-had a couple nice and 1s late in the 4th and showed some physicality.
-got lost quite a bit on defense. You can tell he's not used to having to defend out on the perimeter, and he kept getting caught in no man's land between helping at the rim and being able to recover on the perimeter.

No one else really stood out. Jordan Hall made a couple nice passes and a couple bad turnovers. The defense overall was not good. A lot of miscommunication led to too many open shots for the cavs.
