I am going to do a run through this thread and see if there was a day when you did feel great about a game beforehand.

ETH has been making all the right halftime adjustments. He will need to earn his pay today. Liverpool had been horrible in midfield most of the season and need to be paid to work there.

Players are gassed and making just rudimentary errors. Last couple of games have been won with substandard performances and it's catching up to them. A convenient excuse perhaps but I don't think it's invalid. ETH has done an admirable job of trying to rotate but this game every 3-4 days for the last 3 months has killed us. Casemiro, Martinez...players who you'd have bet your house on to play well are not.
Be interesting to see what comes from this. I don't think it will backslide into a chasm of losses but I do think it might make ETH rethink how he plans for the coming games. This feels like the moment when it became clear he was asking a little too much of some of his key players because of the big drop off in talent between them and their backups.

Aggie/Oiler fan myself so I understand. Hopefully we got all the bad out today.
Reports that some staff and players are considering Bruno's suitability for captaincy. He's technically only the vice captain but the de facto captain in reality since Maguire doesn't play much.
He's a colossal ass at times but I do think he has demonstrated a lot of the qualities you want in a captain. He usually runs his ass off and he rarely shirks defensive responsibilities. But his petulance isn't exactly a trait you want in a captain and when it comes out in spades, it's a massive leadership hinderance.
Nothing will change till the end of the season but will be interesting to see what happens in the summer. Maguire is likely gone then but even if he isn't, there's no way he remains captain. Wouldn't be surprised to see another player besides Bruno promoted into that role.

- Jassim and Ratcliffe have entered "stage 2" of the process but given that United is a public company with publicly available, detailed financial reports, it's not an incredibly long process.
- The real reason for it is for Raine/the Glazers to stall for more bids or increased bids.
- Raine sold the Glazers on a 6 billion GBP bid but it hasn't come to fruition and is unlikely to.
- Raine based the valuation on the Chelsea sale but not reasonable to assume that United is worth double the amount of Chelsea; clear that both Jassim and Ratcliffe have submitted bids that are a more logical assessment of United's value.
