Kinda surprised to hear that with a big, new bbq place opening this summer. I wonder how Coopers bbq place will affect the bbq landscape in this town?bcstx06 said:

Yeah, I don't get the 'there's no authentic mexican food' here thing that some people bring up on here. There's plenty of it if you know where to look.

I disagree that C&J is the Taco Bell of BBQ - that's a kind of ridiculous statement to make - but I do get the point you're trying to make.

Nothing passes up Taqueria el Tio in my mind. Once you get past the need to order in spanish, the weather limitations because it is only outdoor seating, and the occasional stray cat wandering by, it can't be beat.

Taqueria Arandas sells legit trompo tacos at the gas station at the intersection of Briarcrest and 30. They are the best I've found in town.

Daiquiri Barn is opening second location at Texas Ave and Southwest parkway. It will be in the shopping center where TruFit is located.

And for anyone wondering, Daiquiri Barn is the same folks that have the original drive-thru location on Wellborn behind Northgate, they just rebranded.

The new sign has been up for several months, but nothing else has changed. I ran by there by the other day and peaked through the windows just to check. I'm not sure what the hold up is.

You're right. I didn't know 30 changed names as it came in to town and I had the wrong name of the restaurant.
The tacos there are amazing though.

I looked through their online menu, and I look forward to trying them out soon
They seem to have events there but not anchor restaurants from what I can tell. I know I've been invited to events there, and I am attending a catered one next Thursday. But not sure how it works on a day to day basis.dave99ag said:
