Wherever you'd prefer. You're going to get the same answers here that have been given for years on these threads.
If it was me: Japan or NZ.
On Here you're probs Gonna get the usual suspect s: Breck - Telly - Vail/BC, Utah, SS, Hood, BC, Alberta, and Tetons. I doubt many of the few non-corporate hidden gems that remain will get mentioned because they are few and far between at this point. The US ski industry has condolidated un chingo and continues to consoldate annually. The Number of mom and pop / local Hills that disappear annually is depressing.
The average US skier is now over 38 years old and aging quickly. The average age of Snow Boarders has also aged almost 6 years since 2012 as well.
Somewhere like 30% or less of the combined cohort is under 25. That's bad math for the industry.
If it were me. I'd look International. The US is now a huge value trap.
Outside of the shop, I have an accounting side hustle for HOAs and large properties in aspen Snowmass/Telly/Vail/BC/Summit/Big & Little Cottonwood, Steamboat, and Grand T and JH and I wouldn't pick any of those. They're all face less corporate hills that keep moving further and further away from the purist experience. I'd avoid anything VR, Powdr or Alterra. No reason to support the dark side of you have the ability not too.
Japow in January or NZ in July.
Japan - Niseko (Hokkaido) for powder then Hakuba Valley (Nagano) for Alpine. Both have local Hot Springs, Great infastructure (they're japanese) and an amazing cultural experience you can't match in the US. Combined w amazing Snow and a ton of it.
I prefer Japan to Europe right now w the yen at almost decades lows vs the euro trading strong against the dollar.
For Canada the grocery store requirement is going to eliminate most of the hills you've probs never heard of any some that you have.
You'll need to stick close to Vancouver Kelowna or Kamloops for BC and Alberta Big 3 for Alberta. I wouldn't recommend going to Quebec but if you do Mont Crans Is Great If they have snow.
If you can handle without the grocery store off piste: Revelstoke, Big White, Powder King.
If you decide to Go Europe - Skip the Alps and Go to Grandvalira, Andorra. Far better value and much friendloer locals and amazing terrain and conditions without the crowds. They also speak alot of english if that's a pain point.
