Is it crazy optimistic to think there will be good snow in early to mid- December?

With the current state of the climate, you very easily could end up SOL. At a minimum, have an alternate plan if you're dead set on dates.

Any chance you'll have Outdoor Prolink friends and family access code this year?

Pretty soon we'll need to roll over to a 26-27 thread.

I've got my free 100's in and some matching marker griffons. I've got the right diameter and depth bit 3.5x9.5 and patterns and watched about half a dozen videos of binding mountings. Looks like if I mark and measure and measure and measure, it's pretty straightforward to do. I've been adjusting my own bindings for a couple of seasons now. I might do a practice run on some plywood just to make sure I get the rear properly centered on the adjustment screw range, and the template scale is right on.

4nm screw torque is about 35 inch lbs. a little waterproof TBIII glue and done.

I'll probably measure out and mount at -4cm from true center which is pretty much on the tics on the skis for the recommended mount. A bit forward of what I am used to but I'll adapt. I don't ski enough to be able to tell subtle mount point difference so I'll go with the recommended location. Now we need El Niño to do its thing and give the southwest a good start to the season in November.

Post close up pictures when you're done so we can critique!
I have a hodgepodge of old bindings and old skis that I'm reconfiguring. I started by moving the look zrs heels on a pair of old 192 dyna 4x4 forward 10cm (not shocking these skis once belonged to someone larger than me). Filled old holes with g-flex, printed up templates and these things aren't the same pattern as any of the turntable templates, so I get out the calipers and start measuring and marking. Measure over and over and over then punch and measure again, and I guess I need to stop looking at decimal mm because it's not as exact as I swear I had it marked. Then I remembered that ski boots are plastic and mine are beat up plastic and what's a mm or two between friend, so I go ahead and drill anyway, blow out holes out, spooge some titebond in the holes and on the screws and fkn send it. Boots click in, forward pressure looks good, pretty sure they won't kill me and a busload of nuns despite the bindings being 25 years old and me not being a stoned 17 year old
Next is px15s on my revolt 124s, this time the heel holes didn't match the px template. Mounted one on a board where it looked like the templates should line up and was able to adjust forward pressure and boot center lines up where it's supposed to so I feel good about mounting those next time I have a few hours to kill

bases on the past, current projections for 26/27.

PNW higher than average temps. lower than average precipitation.

Colorado/NM/Utah slightly above average temps but higher than average precipitation especially in San Juans

I'll Believe It When I see It.

All reports That were seeing Is the massive el niño will implode at the end of the year and revert back to hard times.

We need an el niño that stays around for the spring not one that implodes in November/December.

On another note - we just got back from filming in Chile. Might be the most snow ive ever seen on a hill. Japow included. I think we had something like 250 inches of powder.

Flights there are relatively cheap. I have wondered how much it costs to stay there and get around. It looks like some giant wide open mountain tops to ski.

WIDE open T2B.

Lodging is super cheap compared to US. It's flat relatively but a ton of fun When They Have Snow.

We paid $385 round trip from Cancn. Cheaper than flying from Cancn to Denver. Their rental selection isn't great - (probs our next Investment) but the conditions were amazing.

Curious…. I'm going to spend 12 days in a ski town or town in mountains in January. Where would you go? It definitely needs to have access to grocery stores, restaurants, bars, etc. Which would you choose? I'd rent a cabin or a condo

Wherever you'd prefer. You're going to get the same answers here that have been given for years on these threads.

If it was me: Japan or NZ.

On Here you're probs Gonna get the usual suspect s: Breck - Telly - Vail/BC, Utah, SS, Hood, BC, Alberta, and Tetons. I doubt many of the few non-corporate hidden gems that remain will get mentioned because they are few and far between at this point. The US ski industry has condolidated un chingo and continues to consoldate annually. The Number of mom and pop / local Hills that disappear annually is depressing.

The average US skier is now over 38 years old and aging quickly. The average age of Snow Boarders has also aged almost 6 years since 2012 as well.

Somewhere like 30% or less of the combined cohort is under 25. That's bad math for the industry.

If it were me. I'd look International. The US is now a huge value trap.

Outside of the shop, I have an accounting side hustle for HOAs and large properties in aspen Snowmass/Telly/Vail/BC/Summit/Big & Little Cottonwood, Steamboat, and Grand T and JH and I wouldn't pick any of those. They're all face less corporate hills that keep moving further and further away from the purist experience. I'd avoid anything VR, Powdr or Alterra. No reason to support the dark side of you have the ability not too.

Japow in January or NZ in July.

Japan - Niseko (Hokkaido) for powder then Hakuba Valley (Nagano) for Alpine. Both have local Hot Springs, Great infastructure (they're japanese) and an amazing cultural experience you can't match in the US. Combined w amazing Snow and a ton of it.

I prefer Japan to Europe right now w the yen at almost decades lows vs the euro trading strong against the dollar.

For Canada the grocery store requirement is going to eliminate most of the hills you've probs never heard of any some that you have.

You'll need to stick close to Vancouver Kelowna or Kamloops for BC and Alberta Big 3 for Alberta. I wouldn't recommend going to Quebec but if you do Mont Crans Is Great If they have snow.

If you can handle without the grocery store off piste: Revelstoke, Big White, Powder King.

If you decide to Go Europe - Skip the Alps and Go to Grandvalira, Andorra. Far better value and much friendloer locals and amazing terrain and conditions without the crowds. They also speak alot of english if that's a pain point.

If you pick Glenwood, lmk. You can stay at our place if interested. Check out Redstone if you're looking at Glenwood. We much preferred the town of Glenwood to Eagle Co or Ridgway. Glenwoods probs our fav Mountain town in Colorado. Not sure if it counts as a Mountain town but we love it. Thats why we didn't sell our place jaja.

Also, if in Glenwood look up the mile roads. 3 mile 4 mile etc. They run above the town on the way to and last su light resort in the higher elevation alpine and are really stunning pieces of property.

Nice thing about Glenwood is a ton of activities. Vail/BC less than an hour, aspen less than an hour, a great little town w shopping and food that isn't mountain ski town prices and Hot Springs galore: Iron Mountain, avalanche ranch, penny, Glenwood.
