For non avalanche terrain It all depends on the run. Many runs are never groomed and skied in, some boot packed, others will get track packed(cat with tiller up/or off)then once more snow comes it'll hold it better, track packing also helps gather more snow as well. Others will be man made, then dozed out, then tilled and opened, others may only need enough man made to fill in water bars, sink holes, road crossings or high traffic areas.

Ropes and more ropes. Select terrain always means patrol has to run rope. It takes a lot of effort to sort the flow, rope that flow and then staff patrol to sufficient coverage of the terrain open. Their business is for your to ski without getting hurt.
That's why the backcountry is so alluring. A storm hits with sufficient coverage and you ski it. There's no waiting on management to make sure patrol is staffed, what's groomed, what's roped, avy mitigated, etc.

Park City has been great this week with more snow coming tonight and more runs opening today.

Night skiing opens tomorrow at Mt A. May be controversial, but freaking love night skiing. Being able to head up to the mountain after work with my kid…. Nothing better.

Steamboat has already gotten 8 inches since last night according to their cam but the 10-day forecast shows 0 snow days after this storm.
Maybe it was posted previously on this thread and I just can't find it. But, I was looking at lift pass options since the kiddo and I are going to Winter Park for Spring Break. I just got 4 days of lift passes and 2 days of rentals at Christy Sports for my son at Winter Park for $82. You actually get a total of 76 days of skiing between 19 resorts for that price. Cheaper for younger kids too. I've never seen this before, but that's crazy cheap!

Did you get the parent pass too?
Neither the Parents Pass or the Discount Card are good for Winter Park, for whatever reason. The Parents Pass is also sold out.
Telluride had about 6 - 7" today when the Pow Cam crapped out. Looks like it may still be snowing some...

We rented a minivan but friends have used the link below with success. Airport to the village is about 35-40 minutes depending on traffic. Uber black is also an option if you don't want to rent a car.

Thanks for posting this. We had used Uber black from the airport to the Heber City area Saturday and with the snow yesterday afternoon, we went back with protrans. The vehicle was a newer 4 wheel drive Suburban and the driver was great. Will use protrans in the future for sure. PC skiing was great this week, and the High West Distillery tour and tasting was a good off day trip just 15 miles away.
Steamboat got another decent snow. I am not up there but I am guessing about 6-8 inches from looking at my cameras.

Looks like we got more down here on the front range than the I-70 mountains did over night. And nothing more in the long range forecast from what I can tell.

yeah but its a start for the I-70
Keystone got 4" last 24 hours....11" last 7 days
when I looked a few days ago base was only 18" but now it's up to 24". that's a nice increase in a short time.
we go up there in about a month so hopefully this trend continues!!

At Vail, most of Game Creek Bowl's green and blue runs opened today. Also, Mid-Vail had more runs open, like Avanti all the way from upper to lower.
Yep. Beaver creek got 8" yesterday. More terrain opening.

Schweitzer is glorious today. Sunny, still some stashes. 95% open. Very little snow in the forecast, but this has been the best weekend so far.
Purg update-
My neighbor went yesterday (a few inches overnight) and said it was fun but terrible. Lots of ice underneath the new snow. Generally not enough snow, recommend waiting for February at this point.

How's park city been this week ski wise?
I was skiing at Deer Valley in Park City all weekend. Everywhere I went was nice- good coverage. Looking around, clearly overall less snow than typical years but all the runs were great.
Yeah, powered crust on ice can be tricky. It just shears off the steep slopes under pressure and piles into cruddy moguls as it gets skied down. It's not a problem if you are ready for it, but it makes the skiing tougher. I like the challenge but it can wear people out or catch the inexperienced off guard. Once they groom it it will be more practically skiable. My next trip is third week of February so hopefully plenty of time for another storm or two.
