Not sure if this is what you're referring to or not but I've bought skis and bindings from https://www.corbetts.com/ up in Canada and caught some great sales which is even better considering the exchange rate, no tax or shipping costs either.

Next year or this One jaja let me know What You need and I can scoop it and Drive it with us to TX. We usually Drive from co to My Moms and then fly Out of IAH. She's in Bellville so that's alot easier,

Thanks. Just doesn't make sense to get them anything if they're going to keep outgrowing boots every year and only skiing max 8 days. My sister's both live in Denver but we unless we were headed up for an early winter/late fall trip to get to a proper shop then I can't justify it.

No suggestions for Steamboat on Southwest? That be my first rec for a la nina winter. They will have the best and probs most snow in the state. It's gonna be the best spot for snow this winter in CO IMO. I'd be avoiding UT and south / central CO.

My other sugestion would be Winter Park but that will have +/- the same snow as 70 corridor and still requires a drive/train.

I can't post pictures but the forecast is +10 for PNW and Tetons, -10 for SW/Central Colorado and NM, -5 for most of UT and 70 corridor in CO and then +2 in Steamboat.

The slide in UT/CO/NM will likely be Steamboat. The precipitation forecast for those Tri-State for Oct - Dec is atrocious. Whistler/Hood/Stevens Pass etc should get hammered.

Just a bit of history for the Christmas ski crowd.

Ugh, Corbetts and Bob Leisure is dead homies. De minimus tariff exemption killed it.

Pricing out a new touring skimo ski-binding and they want $500usd to import. Bob's wont even offer it to me.

Me and teenager. He has winter break early February. We'd leave Saturday and then ski Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday morning.
Ideally fly out Tuesday evening
We normally hit Dillon/keystone. Company condo in Dillon is not available
Live in Houston. Can fly United or SW

Any recs?
I was thinking park city or that area but never been there for skiing. Other idea was Tahoe but never been there either

Pure ski experience, PC/DV. It's so close to SLC.

I70 just sucks these days. It's so expensive in $ and time (which is also $).

If flying I would always suggest against choosing DEN + an I-70 resort over SLC + one of the resorts less than an hour away when booking this far out.
Doesn't mean avoid CO in general, just that getting from SLC to the UT resorts is so much easier.

I exclusively ski I-70 resorts, which I guess could be taken as bias either direction.

I'll probably be looking for GS skis that she can do slalom with as well. She's ready to move up to probably 120-122s.

I've been poaching my bargain bin deals at powder7, but several places will offer big discounts on last years' surplus models. I'm trying to swing an early season shoestring budget tune up trip but considering I drive from Texas, that's a real hit or miss thing.

How? This is my final cart for some new Stokes shipped to my house. What am I doing wrong? Tariff tax is always there.

Just now getting caught up on the thread. Probably no trip for us this year. Spring break trip this last year put us back about $7k. And that's driving our own car.

Adding kids to the fold with lessons makes this sport a gutpunch. My toddler will be 23 months at spring break so I think we're just going to sit it out.

I may sneak in a solo weekend trip on a whim. Or just take the 5yr old up.

With the costs becoming what they are for lodging, we bit the bullet (sort of) and bought a little piece of property in southern Colorado. It's just dirt in a gated neighborhood but now we have a mission to get a house built and have a permanent spot.

Yup!

We bought in South Fork. Wolf creek has allegedly increased its forest lease and expansion of the mountain should begin (I'm told).

I figure we can ski there for cheap (20 min drive) and then venture off for bigger/other mountains and find like a single night stay here or there if we want.

Make the drive to Purg and ski one or two days (find a place for 1 night). Maybe even into Telluride or CB.

We can't afford a true big mountain ski place. Who can these days? I'm also not interested in dropping $1mm+ on a little condo. We want to build a house where we can have multiple generations (God willing) enjoy the mountains together. Christmas, holidays, the summer! Elk rut in the fall. And a place where I can sit on the deck and not hear anything but the aspens in the wind.

That's part of the reason I am looking at a move up into that region in 2-3 years when I can semi-retire. We don't need a big place house wise, and all the stuff I like to do is right there in the region for the most part. I've got a lot of ground to make up in developing my skiing before age really starts making that hard.

Snow Forecast. The temps arent expected to drop as early making the usual october snows that help cool the crust and build a base of snow making impossible. The worst seasons are the ones with no snow OR the ones with overnight snow that's melted after 2 hours. It's still super early and you don't want to snow out in October or November, but it's nice to get snow and not rain in October. Just puts the mind into the frequency. Rain is a mellow harsher. Good for the drought but not as aligned for the universal ski vibration.

A basin and Keystone are already building. Anything that's getting rain isn't making snow and that ends up usually hurting the early season crowd.

Anyone planning on a PNW trip? Were thinking Stevens Pass and Big White trip in mid Jan. They should get slaughtered this year.

Brother, if you're flying into the PNW and skiing Steven over Baker I don't know how to help you. Crystal at least has the views. But Stevens and Snoqualmie just get the Seattle masses, booked parking and bad drivers.

Bachelor is up there with Baker, imo. It get's less snow, but better quality being further east and drier.

Hood, hit me up.

But if we're being honest, Whistler is it for the PNW. You'd be hard to justify a flight on anything else. Maybe, maybe, maybe Baker (world-class side-country; take a buddy, a beacon, probe and shovel even in-bounds) and Bach (spring skiing from the summit gets you 360 degrees of skiing + Bend is a blast).

Yup, pretty frustrating, my dude.

I think if reality holds true more shops will open US inventory, though. Just a proxy, but e.g., Canyon is a major bike manufacturer out of Germany. Direct-to-consumer is their thing and it's top spec for a bit off by avoiding the dealer mark-up. MVP famously rides them.

They spun up a Cali distribution to avoid all this mess. I got a killer deal an a DI2 Ultimate a few months ago shipped within the US.

Hopefully ski industry catches up.

It is a scammer trying to show post count and activity on other forums to sucker people into buying tickets from them.

So uh... my firm does engineering for the Yellowstone Club. Trying to see if I can somehow sneak in and ski with Zuck and Bill Gates.

Kind of a cool project... We were responsible for the project that turned their wastewater effluent into snow using their snowmakers.
