Thanks! The pucks are 3" dia and 1.5" dia cut from 3/4" ply, then chucked them up in the lathe to sand and round off the corners. Volant metal is so tough, I had to sharpen the bit 2 or 3 times to get all the holes drilled

I remember when I got my volants mounted there was only one shop in Houston that would work on them. And now 30 years later sun and ski is the only "ski shop " in Houston.

I'm currently wondering why they don't open a dry slope at Spider Mountain here in TX at the bike park. They have lifts. Also some Msnow or pro slope down an unused hillside and set up a few sprinklers on a hose run. Yeah, I took a look at the synthetic surfaces and they are quite pricey. I guess the reality is most people like an off-season to do other things and build anticipation for the next one. This year I'm going to build a wall rack like the one poster earlier, maybe paint my boring grey brahmas for fun, and maybe build myself a little practice jump so I can try to learn a few starter tricks in the off-season. I have my boats, rods, and bike to keep me busy until December

Update: LOL they got their biggest dump of the year yesterday. I saw 16" on the stake this morning. Already melting - 2" gone. Now it's just water for the lakes and rivers, hopefully it keeps coming.

Ski season still going in Banff. They are opening for a summer session for a couple of weeks in June due to the huge amount of snowfall they have gotten this spring.

Question for BC or others -
I dropped my Sender Free 100s off to get bindings mounted a few weeks ago, and I when I picked them up there was a dent in the sidewall and a bulge on the bottom sheet. That sucked a lot, but the shop did me right and warrantied them out. The original skis were a 178 and they replaced it with a 177. I think the top sheet is also different.
Are these the new 2027 skis?

I picked up some older model revolt 124s I'm going to mount today or tomorrow. Really excited about them, hope the nino comes through for us!
Since I have more time than usual on my hands due to my current condition, here are some ski holders I built using the puck design with a mountain theme. I built a matching pair so I have room for 3 more sets of skis in the future:

The Rossi site looks like the 26/27s are going to be 178 again.
Now I am looking at free 100's and bent 100's myself. That would be a fun/powder/off piste/ski for me as small as I am. 5'9" (175cm) and 162lb. I won't need all that wide of a ski to float a bit, and I want a ski I can lay over on groomers even if it is a bit wider. Middle of the summer prices are pretty nice.

Bents in 100 are worthless. Hate to be that guy but bents are made to be 110 120 not 100. So many superior Pairs to them at 100.

Been meaning to ask an opinion: I'm about 175cm tall, been skiing two skis in the 168cm range. Should I be looking to go to 178cm skis as I progress? Also, do twin tips seem to ski shorter than their length? Not as much of the actual ski is in contact so I'm guessing going a bit longer won't be as noticeable as with a flatter tail ski. I've kind of zeroed in on the soul 102 or the free 100 and am now looking at length.
Looking for a family friendly place to stay for the upcoming ski season. Trying to stop mooching off my cuz who has a place at The Palisades. We're eight adults and 6 children. Interested in Steamboat and Jackson Hole but open to other resorts.
