Oh - I posted that earlier. It's 30% off the window rate if purchased 30 days before. Still not a great deal but better than paying full price. The Epic day pass is 50% off.
Which is the same as the epic friend ticket.

With Epic pass sales down and the snow not great all season, they're dying for revenue.

Australia and Whistler have been bright spots along w the NE but Colorado and UT are struggling badly this season. Vail/BC/Breck/Keystone/PCC are a huge chunk of their revenue. WBC is the largest revenue market but Colorado/UT dwarf the NE and other US Hills.

Telly has bad snow and mountain ops issues so it could always be worse for Vail.

With 4 runs open and no snow through 12/22, it's gonna be a rough holidays. Even if they get snow they won't have the ability to prep or open much. Not a good year to let snow go to waste.

Bad News for Park City

5/6 days won't reach freezing even at night and 7/10 will be totally above freezing. Forecast is for 8,700 ft so even warmer at the base. Thats Awful.

Storm looks to be brewing just before Christmas but it could be mostly rain.

Not seeing the same but doesn't look great either. Just need something by 1/3.

Christmas Storm for the 70 corridor and Steamboat looking less and less likely. Still a ways out but not great Numbers through the 26th. Telly could get 9/10 inches and WC maybe a foot. Vail/SS/BC/Breck less than 6 through 12/27th. Gotta get through the next 10 days of sun and way to high of high temps before we worry about that though. 43 in Vail tomorrow. BARF.

On the road to southern Colorado. Starting at WC Sunday. Purg just somehow managed to open a bunch of lift 3 runs. They get less sun so maybe that is how.

They shouldbt be open. It's to keep people from cancelling. It's honestly a total fraud and I'd be PISSED If I showed up expecting it to be ski able.

Total fraud and criminal. Growing up in the late 70s and early 80s I spent 35-45 days each year on sticks. But, in a year like this I got in 0, nada, zip - because snow making was in its infancy and they would not open under these conditions.

Some MUCH needed Good News for the UT/CO high country!!

Good News: UT now has potentially 3 storms moving through before new years. Thats 20-25 inches Now Over two weeks.

Bad News: the floor on that snow might be REALLY high and the SLR will be spring style for the first two. Temps will drop dramatically between Christmas and NY.

CO

Good News: same as UT. The Best News Is the high pressure system that's just been a ***** the Last week is moving out quicker than expected. Snow forecasted Wednesday and Sat/Sun of next week. Looks like 15-20 inches for Vail/BC and Steamboat along w the Southern Hills.

Bad News: Central and Summit arent looking to catch a ton. 6-8 forecasted.

Better than than high highs in the 40s and Sun totalmente.

Skied at Alta yesterday and Snowbird today. Snowbird in particular is REALLY limited in terms of open terrain. And it's too warm for them to run the snow makers.

Wolf creek is pretty much entirely open and mostly skiable but it's pretty crusty and icy off the groomers. The mogul runs aren't bad but it won't be long before there are gravel and sticks poking out of the low spots. Overall it's not bad given the snowfall so far in the region. I tried to ski part of Alberta face but it was rapidly becoming a granite shark fest. I think I'm going to do one more day at WC then throw the dice on a day at Purg, even if it is super sketch and all desperate snowmaking on a few groomed runs. The steak sammich at carvers is calling my name.

BC or others - what should I do to seal this up? I want to be sure these don't start to delay. I've got some gorilla glue epoxy I used on my Volkls. Just put a layer of that over the top?

MouthBQ98

A good 2 part epoxy will fix something like that. It will seal it and hold it together also.
Bayou City

Thatd just top sheet. Not a delam. Best bet is to epoxy to keep water from getting under it and expanding.

Hate to say this but if you think Wolf Creek is getting bad, you don't even want to to Purgatory. 27 runs open which really should be about 5. The biggest early season fraud is Purg w 5 lifts open when they can only snow make on 2. Should he a class action suit and criminal fraud.

Know what would be criminal? These ski areas, which operate almost entirely on public land, not operating when they are able. I'll be at purg Sunday and I bet I have fun!

I've landed on Sun Valley for the ski week. Leave tomorrow and will bum around Hailey/Ketchum. Maybe find a hot-sping to camp.

I tried to hold out hope for UT, J-Hole or Big Sky. They are still forecasted to be on the wrong side of the low pushing in, i.e. rain. ID getting a good dose of moisture and cold.

The Idaho panhandle is not. It's currently 38* and raining at Schweitzer.

On the bright side, temps are supposed to drop tonight/tomorrow and that moisture should turn to snow.

Got in 15 lift rides before lunch. Flew off a blue roller and had an epic spaz wipeout but no harm done. Just wish I had got it on video.

That's why I'm going high! Bald base is super high relative to everything around it. Solid snow the entire week.
