Key notes from Buchanan’s thoughts on Saka
- Let's fast forward like four months, and we're going to be saying, "How do we have him at No. 9?" But No. 9 was worn by the premier pass rusher for Texas A&M last season, so maybe there's something there. I think Anto Saka will have a big year. I don't mean to be overly optimistic.
- When we saw him the other day... Have you ever been to the horse races? They bring the horses, and they have all the people standing there saying, "He has good muscle structure and bone structure." They do that to see what you want to bet on. I might have to bet on this guy.
- He says he's bigger, faster and stronger now. A&M is turning out NFL defensive linemen. They are turning our pass rushers. Are Saka and Marco Jones going to be new versions of John Roper and Aaron Wallace? The Blitz Brothers?
- He's wreaking havoc. I am envisioning an obvious passing situation where you have Saka and Jones on the field. You have DJ Hicks and shifting T.J. Searcy down to tackle for the rush. Mike Elko comes up with something, and the safety gets the sack.
