just started playing after the kids picked this up last week. Fun game, but I'm not yet ready or skilled enough to expand beyond solo play and some split screen action. I may jump online later this week.

So Robert Morris had to cancel last minute, but we swept Tennessee 4-0 in our best of 7.

We're trying to grind out preseason scrimms to get a high seed for our summer series. We are planning to do a pre-season scrimmage against UT on stream soon, I'll be sure to post that well in advance!

Our summer series starts the week of May 15th, and you'll probably be hearing more as we're generally trying to get more people involved in the TAMU Rocket League community.

And if I were still in school, I could be the water boy for the A&M Rocket League team.

How exactly does esport eligibility work? I might need to go get my masters just so I can join the team.

Thanks FormeryLefty, we had a slow start in game 1 but found a rhythm about halfway through. We didn't play in RLCS this time around, but certainly will next season. The starting team just formed about a week ago and we clicked really well instantly. It helps that the other two players are freshman too!

I'll definitely post here when I know anything about streams, especially when our summer season begins. At the moment, the intercollegiate league is hosted by a third-party organizer. In the fall semester, I've heard Psyonix is planning on launching their official college league. At the moment eligibility is limited to undergrads per the rules of the third party, but will probably open up next fall.

I anticipate that things will be much more formal and publicized when Psyonix takes over of the college scene. For now, we're pumped to be getting a jump start on the competition.

When I was in school, A&M held a Quake 1 CTF tournament in Rudder Tower. My friends and I got annihilated by real teams.

Finally up to platinum 2 in doubles

I had a really good string of games last night in ranked 3s with a couple of regular buddies. Helped push one of them into platinum and I moved up to gold 2.

Currently at silver 2 in doubles and bronze 3 in solo standard. So dang hard to level up in solo standard... all about the luck of the draw as far as teammates go, and difficult to carry a team against decent competition.

I CANNOT get back to platinum in standard, the teammates I get is so volatile as opposed to doubles where I can carry more easily

But yeah it looks like it will be a while before I can get back on regularly. Getting ready for the big move coming on Monday and then I will be spending all of my time getting my house ready for sale. May sneak in some time here and there before bed.

I'm moving this weekend, too. About to unplug the PC... kinda scary not knowing when I will have internet reconnected and all my **** set up again...

The Flipside / Resonant match was insane. One of the best matches I've ever seen

That was an amazing series. I really thought Resonant was going to take it.

Yeah, me too. I feel bad for those guys, but I'm glad Flipside made it through. Greazy proved he's not just the 3rd man on their roster. They probably would have lost if not for him.

I'm a big fan of Kaydop and Fairy Peak too, so it was fun to see a Mockit / Flipside EU finals.

Now hopefully the EU teams don't curb stomp the American teams at LAN this year. I wish G2 had made it through, because I don't see anyone other than NRG putting up a fight.

Unrelated to e-sports, I decided to test my theory that the ranking reset was a giant clusterf*** and that people probably haven't found their real ranks yet. I was placed in silver after my placement matches (solo standard) which I played right after the reset.

I played at least 5 out of the ten placement matches against S3 grand champs (I finished a rising star in the previous season, so you can probably guess how that went.) I have worked my way up to gold 3 (plat 1 in doubles and standard) since then.

I created a new account and played my placement matches over the weekend. I saw only one S3 grand champ. I won 8/10 placement matches and it put me in plat 1. I played a few more games and ended plat 2.

It's possible I got really lucky, but my takeaway is to wait a few weeks to play ranked once the next season starts.

That's really true. You early rank can get so over inflated from a lucky string of games. Even this late in the season is still hasn't balanced out, although at diamond 3 I'd say *most* games are pretty close.

LSU is really strong, like REALLY strong, they are one of the few teams with three very high ranked players that work well together. However, we have been the only team to consistently take games off of them in unlisted scrimmages. We like our chances if we see them in playoffs. A lot of our losses you see on the preseason standings are matches we played without the full starting squad too.

- Purdue (beat them in preseason)
- Maryland (beat them in preseason)
- Northeastern (didn't play, have a top 100 player on their roster)
- KSU (Lost to them in preseason with subs)

We should be a comfortable playoff team, with a deep run if we can stay consistent.
