So here is a fun fact. In order to get stuff from the Atlantic ocean to the Great Lakes, you have to go through the St. Lawrence Seaway. There are 15 locks in that Seaway and 13 of them are 100% on Canadian soil. If you think Trump is having a blast trying to get Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, just wait until he really pisses Canada off and they just close those locks to all traffic except those freighters going to Canadian ports.

But even if they don't do that, here is another fun fact. There are quite a few Senate Battleground States in the upcoming 2026 midterms. Here is a list of States where the GOP is in tight races to keep the Senate:
Maine, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, South Dakota, Kansas, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Alaska

Guess what? All of those States have Canada as their #1 or #2 trading partner. Nine of them have Canada as their majority trading partners. Do you think this makes the businesses in those states support Republicans more or less in the upcoming midterms?

Remember Trump letting low cost foreign beef (300,000 metric tons from Mexico and Brazil) be imported and mixed into the US ground beef supply? What do these states from the above list have in common?
Iowa, Texas, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas

66% of all domestic beef in feed lots in the US are in these five Senate Battleground States. You know who is screaming mad about this (other than all domestic cattle ranchers)? So far every Republican Senator running for Re-election in the major beef producing States (notably except Ken Paxton whose political lifeline depends on never crossing Trump).

If Democrats could invent someone to drive down Republican voter support and enthusiasm before the midterms, that person would look a lot like Trump right now. He is doing everything he can to toss the Senate to the Democrats.
