Bilateral deal with Mexico means we can provide termination notice to USMCA and further isolate Canada. Even some Canadians know that is coming.

More US content in Mexican assembly lines (primarily US3, plus VW), lower tariffs relative to Canada will crush Canadian auto industry even faster.

Here's the truly scary statistic

Almost 50% of Canadas GDP is government spending at the federal level and almost 75% at the province level.

That's not a functioning economy. That's a life support system keeping the heart pumping while the brain is dead

I would already be telling Carney that if he continues military talks with China we will take his ass out.

Start by taking them out of the Five Eyes alliance. If they are going to be cozying up to the Chinese, they don't need high level intelligence access from us.

Yep. This ALREADY crossed the line. I'd tell Canada if you station a single Red Chinese solder you will be toasted without firing a single shot. And if that doesnt work we get even meaner.

There should be absolutely no Chinese Soldier besides embassy guards ANYWHERE in the Western Hemisphere

London, and Europe, are attempting to rebuff Trump BUT:
The Green Policies are getting their manufacturing. Germany, the heart of Europe, is deindustralizing because energy is too expensive. Europe is energy poor, even more so now that they've killed their nuclear capacity (except France) and their cheap Russian supplies have dried up.

Per capital GDP is plummeting. England is equal to or lower than Mississippi, our poorest state. Late the sink in.

Changing demographics and exploding their welfare state is likewise gutting their economies. On top of that, as the voting base changes so is their government.

And last, thr vast majority have demanded free trade at US security expense while also not meeting their agreed to defense spending treaty while doing business with their greatest enemy which has enriched them to the point they invaded Ukraine and now ALL of their poor decisions have come home to roost.

China is opportunistic and uses financially weak nations to dump product and circumvent trade agreements while pushing influence theough bad trade deals and manipulating markets that only benefit China.

Europe is desperate and Canada is the vector through which this is occurring. Cutting off energy to Canada and blockading their ports would crush them in weeks.

And this is all before their extremely weak immigration policy that is a massive security threat to the US.

I hadn't seen/noticed that. Incredible if true.

Carney's latest uber-genius idea as noted elsewhere is to become an associate EU member, because the ongoing de-industrialization of Europe seems like a great idea to CCP-Carney.

The disaster is real. And no trade deal with the EU will lead to auto mfg's deciding to build in Canada.

Congrats again Canadians!

I think my favorite comment I've seen on Canada becoming an associate member of the EU was the emphasis put on the military bolstering they could provide one another.

Take a look on the YouTube channel Northern Perspective. The podcast is a Canadian who covers all the issues related to this matter. He's spot on.

The video is entitled, "BREAKING: Carney Given EU Membership After Repeatedly Telling Canadians He Never Wanted it." What a lot of people don't know is that Kearney was an object failure in the UK, moved to Canada, and became Prime Minister.

We know what this is. It's a revenge mission against Trump, both from a Canadian and EU perspective. And, like most things the EU does now, it will result in a monumental failure.

In the meantime, the EU will try to suck the financial life and resources out of Canada, further bankrupt it, and leave it in shambles. This is what socialist governments do. If you get a chance, read the comments from Northern perspectives YouTube about this issue.

I'm pretty sure that this move requires unanimous consent from the member countries. If that's the case, it could be a total public relations fail.

Carney's gift to Trump
Here's the point that will be missed by 80% of Canadians. The EU trade rules do not align with the USMCA. I don't mean that in a vague or disingenuous manner. The specific rules, regulations and policies of the European Union are not compatible with the trilateral North American trade agreement between the U.S, Mexico and Canada. It's not even close.
What most Canadians don't realize amid all this gleeful back-slapping and pretentious cheer, is that Mark Carney has officially sealed the fate of Canada as it relates to the USMCA/CUSMA.
Canada just did exactly what President Trump and U.S. Trade Greer had been organizing and hoping for. Mark Carney just pulled Canada out of the USMCA and there's no-one to blame but himself.
We have been waiting for this for a long time. Thank you, Mark Carney.

This will absolutely cause Alberta to leave Canada, further decimating whats left of that nation.

One major blind spot all of these liberal nations (and US states) is they assume the status quo wont change and do not factor in people leaving. CA, NY, IL all are having their middle clasesses and businesses moving away. Theyll look at total population and think things are OK, but that pop is increasingly made up of births and immigration which consists of low skill labor. Its impossible to keep your tax base consistent.

If and When Alberta breaks and goes independent and/or becomes a territory of the US (let's be real, statehood is a long way off) that will absolutely gut CANs budget.

And for those in the back, its much easier for a CAN province to break away than for a US State to leave. The US will slap trade restrictions and higher tariff down at lightening speed and it will take a decade for CAN to iron out trade agreements with the EU.

I think what's being overlooked here is the hurdle for all EU countries even approving Canada as an Associate Member. First of all, that designation doesn't even exist. They will have to navigate new legal and existing byzantine processes to even make that happen.

Assuming they even figure that out, then you have to have all 27 members approve it. It looks like Canada and the EU signed a trade agreement almost 11 years ago that's never even been ratified by all members. If they couldn't get a normal trade agreement ratified through existing processes, the burden to clear here is much higher.

And that's just one example of many...

It's not about joining the EU

It's about creating the Elbows Up narrative that Carney is saving Canada from the Evil Trump that Liberal Canadians eat up

But it's also interesting in that a move like this placates Quebec separatist who themselves want to join the EU as soon as they declare separation (and who are also the core of the Liberal Party and carney's power) while at the same time fanning the flame of Alberta separatism right before they vote here in 3 days because they know EU restrictions will finish the job Canadian regulations started in killing their economy

Based on history here, Trump will be out of office before they can secure this arrangement. The next POTUS is in almost all likelihood going to be less combative than Trump. Carney needs to not be an idiot and just wait him out.

Carney is not going to about-face regarding his duplicity, he has to maintain his present course through elections in Canada (and likely the US as he is trying to help Democrats of course). Mexico-US deal has been reached, which means USMCA termination is now just a matter of timing.
Quote:

With Europe dictating trade standards, rules of production, manufacturing, access etc. Canada is no longer in alignment with the USMCA. This plays right into the hands of President Trump and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, who would prefer two distinctly different bilateral trade agreements; one with Mexico and one with Canada.

The question then becomes, when do Trump and Greer announce the termination of the USMCA. The most reasonable answer is after the U.S. and Mexico finalize a bilateral trade agreement. With the U.S. and Mexico agreement confirmed, the Canadian leverage evaporates.

Carney had previously tried to pressure Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum not to reach bilateral terms. However, again return to what Carney just did with Europe. Telling Mexico to sit on their hands while organizing a separate side deal with Europe is more than a little hypocritical; in fact, it is really, really insulting.

This opens the door for Trump and Greer to exploit Carney's self-centered political duplicity, and when you understand that dynamic you have context for why there's suddenly a warmer embrace of such an agreement by Sheinbaum. Any hope that Carney had to rely on Mexican favor toward them, was just eliminated by the gleeful backslapping in Strasbourg France witnessed by everyone.

That's why we are seeing reports that Mexico and the United States have reached terms for a bilateral agreement. Yesterday, President Trump and President Sheinbaum held a phone call to discuss final aspects of mutual agreement.

That leadership call doesn't happen unless Greer and his Mexican counterpart, Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrand, have already ironed out the sticking points and eliminated any points of friction.

The trade negotiations led by Greer and Ebrand have been conducted over the past year as Canada sat on the sidelines and organized a political economic narrative on behalf of the British Commonwealth. Those U.S-Mexico terms are now complete as noted by President Trump and Claudia Sheinbaum.

Americans buy over a million cars a year from Canada today, but that is going to halt in fast order, and the Europeans have zero intention of becoming 'replacement buyers.'

LPC is going to absolutely dominate next month in their elections, but will then face the prospect of governing an economic disaster.
