At the risk of getting scorched by folks on here, does anybody else find it tiring that Trump seems to pick fights with pretty much any and everyone? I know part of it is the media fanning the flames making things a whole lot more dire than they are, and hate on Trump for everything.

I mean, I get it. A number of things have needed to, and continue to, be need renegotiated as we have been taken advantage of by the whole damn world on a number of things. I wish things were a little more "strategic and quiet" instead of the bombastic, bravado, and in your face stuff. It just gets tiring with all of the noise.

Flame away

You want Biden who was buddy buddy with everyone and we got ripped off in return?

Driving a hard bargain always makes one the bad guy.

I prefer Trump.

Dude, where in my post did I say preferred poopy Joe?

Trump is trying to correct decades of bad policy. I just wish things were done a lot more quietly. I even said as much in my original post. Its politics, both sides have to feel like they gained something. Dragging folks through the mud doesnt achieve that.

OK.
Trump is not perfect by any means and he sometimes is crazy/whimsical, but at this point, we need someone crazy to show the world not to F with us. A "mature level headed" person cannot achieve this. People the world over are afraid of Trump.

No other way than pissing off some people who have been ripping us off. Examples Canada, Mexico and India and China. The louder the squeals the more the ripping off.

As for being quiet, he is doing the H1B thing very very quietly. Everyone else is tweeting and speaking, not Trump. New H1Bs are practically blocked. Getting renewals isn't happening as people have to go back and once there, they aren't getting interview appointments. So locked out. Every day he's adding something new without a word. This keeps the Dems off his back.
He isn't quiet on Canada because he has to bully them else they act up.

You responded. That's all he wanted.

Joke is on you.

All you guys that can't figure out how he works is amazing to me. You bite. That's what he wants.

In the end his noisy, loud process usually gets him what he wants. He isnt trying to make friends. He is trying to get what he wants.

No. And you know better than that… but if you esnt to pretend you don't than that's your right. Just like it's your right to shreak about how he operates, rather than understand what he is doing.

Democrat machine is also using the Canadians, because of course they are, just as the British MI5 was used by the HRC machine to manufacture russiagate.

Quote:

The story Canadian media should have written five minutes after Carney appointed a U.S. Democrat operative as his PMO COO… but were all afraid of reprisal:

Mark Carney installed Maia Johnson a longtime American Democratic operative as the first-ever Chief Operating Officer of the Prime Minister's Office, a role equivalent to White House Chief of Staff. She also holds the concurrent title of Senior Special Advisor for "United States Stakeholder Strategy.

Johnson is a US citizen. She directed scheduling for Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign, worked at Michael Bloomberg's Hawkfish, provided strategic consulting to the Biden campaign in 2020, and has deep Bloomberg network ties. As a non-Canadian, she is barred from Top Secret clearance yet she is now Carney's top deputy with unclear access to sensitive material. There was no official announcement on the PMO website.

Her path to Ottawa runs through the climate-finance web Carney co-chaired (GFANZ with Bloomberg), Gerald Butts (now advising alongside Carney's wife at Eurasia Group), John Podesta, and recent private gatherings involving Barack Obama, Alex Soros, Huma Abedin, and senior Canadian officials. These are the same networks that have long treated Canada as a friendly base for opposing a Republican White House

This is not neutral staffing. It is the latest chapter in a pattern of elite US Democratic access and coordination with Canada's Liberal government, now colliding with collapsing USMCA talks, Carney declaring Canada is "at war" with the U.S., and Trump's retaliatory 50% tariffs on Canadian autos, trucks, and steel.

Canadian media stayed silent. Five minutes after the appointment, someone should have asked the obvious: Why is an American Democratic campaign veteran running the PMO's operations and U.S. strategy while trade and security tensions escalate? The silence itself is the story (h/t @isthisdimpeeb)

Line 5 accident will add some costs to Eastern Canadians including Montreal and Quebec (no, I don't buy the conspiracy theory, on this one). It could be repaired fairly quickly though I'd imagine.

So, Carney pulled the plug on this deal over impact to their sovereignty while simultaneously employing a traitorous, US citizen and Democrat operative at the highest level in his cabinet.

Pretty much nothing the Democrats will do to degrade our country.

Canadians hate Trump and don't like the idea of being bullied into submission. Carney has no choice but to try and stand firm and fight back or he'll be thrown out of office.
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

All politics is local, and pretty much everyone believes in TACO now. In 6 months we've gone from threats to remove the Iranian civilization from the earth, to sending strongly worded letters to Irans trading partners to ask them to help us with some sanctions.

The institutional incest with Democrats is unmistakeable.

Long post, I recommend checking it out. Liberal party in Canada and Democrats/Soros etc. have been intertwined for years and in alignment to harm American interests.

All part of a greater pattern of Globalist leftists colluding across national lines to help each other stay in power. We saw it in the last election with British leftists trying to help Kamala

They're desperate to hold on to the old post WW2/Cold War model of the US subsidizing their socialism forever

That it is destructive is a feature, not a glitch to the Carney DSA Democrat staff.

They also really do think their actions will harm GOP candidates in November to such a degree the newly empowered Democrats will force Trump to be nicer to them.

Two distinct events in my life:

    1. My mother worked for the Canadian embassy in Turkey, so we had access to the Canadian ambassador residence's pool. It was behind our apartment and a short walk so we would go as a family every weekend in the summer. There we would interact with the Canadians.

    2. In college we had Showtime or HBO and Degrassi would come on in the afternoons.

Both of these situations led me to the conclusion that these people looked like us, pretty much dressed like us - but there was something off about them that I couldn't put my finger on. They just weren't the same as us. Kind of like a cultural uncanny valley. We knew Brits and other Europeans and I never got that feeling. It was odd.

I get a lot of pushback for not liking SCTV, Letter Kenny and other Canadian shows. I don't know what it is.

Dont forget one major reasons the US dems are doing this is because they lost access to the embezzlement of USAID funds. This is going to cripple their abaility to raise funds for elections. So...theyre attempting to add pressure by mobilizing an entire country of useful idiots.

The northern states may fall in line, but they weren't going to vote for an R anyway. The rest of the country will just shrug.

They are collectively 'different' I agree but also recognize that the guys from Calgary are quite different vs. Montreeal vs. BC rural areas, just as we/Texans are different from Bostonians.

I think the truth is I am less 'anti-Canadian' than most folks I know are, but recognize they are governed/ruled by a duplicitous cult of globalists seeking to undermine the people there just as Obama-Biden did here. An underlying truth/fact as we've documented here, and discussed by USTR Greer below on state-media in Canada recently.

    Quote:

Greer noted the Carney administration had requested "Fortress North America" a synergetic alignment of U.S-Canada trade principles. Canada wanted a united North American continent against the world on trade. Therefore, this talk of Canada being upset about joint collaboration and agreement on trade agreements with third countries, a point brought up by Carney in the walk-away just doesn't make sense.
If you want a united trade policy for North America, then each nation in North America must hold the same baseline on terms and conditions with other nations. That was the discussion. Those were the agreed principles; until all of a sudden Canada accused the U.S. of dictating terms.

Greer also swatted away the "French language" controversy, saying it wasn't an issue for the USA at all. Greer speaks French and no one cares about Canadians speaking French. That issue has nothing to do with trade at all. As to embedded programming in U.S. streaming services that allow Canadians to find their favorite television shows in French, Greer said the free market makes those decisions. If it is important the market will respond to Canadian requests to search their devices using French.

On the subject of tariffs against Autos versus semi-trucks, Greer noted these are two entirely different categories within the trade agreement. The U.S. was willing to eliminate tariffs against Canadian autos, SUVs and light trucks, but Semi Trucks is another sector altogether. It was Canada who put restrictions and quotas on the import of American autos, we did not limit Canadian exports.

Overall, this is likely the first time any Canadian has the opportunity to see the other side of the discussion. Jamieson Greer did a great job outlining the situation and as to the memes or statements from President Trump, "that's politics."

When it comes to Canada, I've always had the Don Draper mentality towards them: "I don't think about you at all."

This trade dispute and learning they are the ones who have been taking advantage of us in this deal has been enlightening.

I've dug into Greer a little bit and that guy is a badass in this space. Encourage others to go find some articles and interviews with him. Canada has been toying with us for some time and we were letting them until Trump threw down the gauntlet.

I kind of feel sorry for that clown trade group they sent to these talks if they are going up against Greer.

Ford threatening to cut off our electricity is funny.

'If you don't give in, we'll stop receiving a massive amount of income from you!'

I'm sure that would play well at home, if it actually occurred.
    nortex97

Ford is not bright at all.

    Quote:

Carney's also been talking about slapping tariffs on US goods, with, naturally, the retaliatory 'back atcha, buddy' from the US.
But it seems as if the Syrupeans really hadn't thought this fish-slapping dance through when they started it.
There's the issue of Canadian oil. Everyone was talking tough about hiking the tariff on Canadian oil exports to the US up by 50%, and some fire-breathing radicals even wanted to cut off the flow to the lower 48 entirely to teach us a lesson.
HAH! ELBOWS UP NOW, HOW 'BOUT IT!
But it seems as if everyone running their mouths hadn't done a lick of research about Canadian oil products to begin with.
All their black gold travels through US pipelines because Canadians are too prissy to allow it, and/or the individual provinces are at war with each other and will not allow a pipeline from, say, Alberta, to transit British Columbia to reach a port for export.

Trump highlights Logan Act violations of Democrats, undoubtedly true.

Syrupean snit fit is about right. Great piece.
